Since NYC economy went in the crapper (or is it 'went a cropper'), I've found out two of my retired escorts lost their jobs and are back in business. The local gay magazine's escort sections, however, seems smaller. Then again it could be internet ads have cut into print ads. So have other people notice a change in the number of guys escorting with the economic downturn?

I have noticed an increase in "new" or returning escorts over the past few months. Many of these are located where service industry workers have been hit hard due to the economic problems we are dealing with. Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Orlando are four cities where I see this increase the most.

Many of these guys are escorting for survival. I do feel they are using the Internet instead of print ads. My concern is they are most liley in it for the short term and might not measure up to the standards of those who do escort on a regular basis. So aside from one I tend to shy away from hiring these guys at this time.

Cheers! Ritchie
