RE: Update on Jason Reardone

Jason, you are still that cute hot sexy guy. The illness is a coat you can't take off right now but what you are hasn't changed. You are changing because of the experience but the experience of life changes all of us. I wish you weren't going through this particular experience though.

Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. I think your friends in Tampa are like a lot of people. They want to help but are afraid of making it worse. Let them know what you need. They don't realize sometimes you just need some company.

God bless you (Southern Baptist indoctrinated here as well, grin) and I know all of us are wishing you the best of luck with your new medical regime.

Jeff

How about setting up a Jason Reardone fund?

Hey guys,

I've talked a lot about the gay community reaching out and helping guys in trouble and I've called this place a community so many times I'm sure you're all tired of hearing it.

But if ever there was a time or a place where we could maybe make a difference, this is it.

I never met Jason, but those who have seem universally to consider him a great guy. And while we all hope that his treatments will help bring him to a better place physically, clearly he could use some help right now.

How about the idea of a Jason fund? If Jason or someone close to him could set up a Paypal account for him, it would allow us to make contributions to him anonymously, using Paypal, credit cards, debit cards, etc.

I'd be glad to make a contribution. If a fair number of us contribruted just the funds that we would otherwise spend on getting together with an escort for just one hour, it would really add up.

Is there anyone who can help Jason set up a Paypay account and then post instructions here on how to contribute?

BG-

You must have been reading my mind! :) I have been searching on the internet for ways you can raise money for a friend. I think a PayPal account would be great. It would be easy and it would allow more people to contribute since it isn't so time consuming.

I will email him later tonight and get him to set it up. I think it would be a very cool deal.

Later,

Adam

Right BG, it was.

If I were as conveniently situated I'd enjoy it more too. However, trekking in over 40 miles on snow-covered highways takes a little of the shine off -- I did it anyway.

What?? I thought you were in Cambridge? I know Cantabridgians consider themselves far removed from Boston, but isn't 40 miles across the bridge... :-)

You didn't consider the uphill grade to the plateau where we Cantabridgians dwell, did you?? :+

More seriously, I hang my hat across the river eight hours a day. Where I reside lies beyond two rivers (at least) to the north -- in a community that made the finest linen in colonial America. :D

forget about giving up your escorts. what about just giving up a dinner out, putting off buying that new pair of sneakers, bottle of wine, whatever. when IM started that tread about helping the homeless everyone was so concerned about the money not making it to the cause. well here we will know every cent will be going to someone who needs our help. hell he's one of us!

I AM DEEPLY AFFECTED BY THIS SUDDEN TURN FOR SOMEONE SO YOUNG,VIBRANT, AND INTERESTED IN OTHERS. I HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THOSE GREAT PENNINGS BY JASON OVER THE PAST , CANNOT EVEN FATHOM HIS FEELING. LET ME KNOW WHERE TO CONTRIBUT, AND HOW TO DO SO,IN THE INTERIM I HOPE TO GIVE SOME MONETARY ASSISTANCE TO HIM PRIVATELY. AS I LOOK AT THIS JASON IS A FINE GUY AND WORTH IT. AS POSTSCRIPT, CERTAINLY IT IS UNCESSARY TO POST NEW ENGLAND WEATHER REPORTS OR THE PETULANCE OF A VOICE FROM D.C. (MERELY AN OBSERVATION).

Hi Bjuck!

Welcome to M4M... it sounds like you've been reading things for a while.

This place has it's own style and, like all Internet boards, threads meander. When you first start reading, it can be annoying as hell. But after a while, it gets to be half the fun.

Again, welcome!

Thank you BG for the welcome hello. I will try to be open, honest and without "axes" when i do post. Please note that I am trying to observe 'good net' manners by not capitalizing. I agree I am not that important and you should see my signature!

RE: Update on Jason Reardone

Jason,

Thank you for having the courage to come online here and share with us what is going on in your life. I am saddened by the turn of events in your life right now but I am hopeful that the medication will arrest your condition. Please fight to not let it get you mentally down.

You know, it's not what you look like on the outside, but what is in your heart that makes you the human being we care about and I wish you well.

Please keep us posted here. I know there are many, many people here who also have good hearts and who care about you. Even though some folks are preoccupied with frivolous issues right now, I am sure if you stay in touch you'll build a huge base of advocates and supporters.

Hang in there, kid! Do not give up.

Love,

HooBoy
