If I were to say that you were a nasty demented queen, that wouldn't be a "smear", that would be a statement of fact. The FACT is that when I saw Cole, he did not look well. Guess what genius? There are many many many guys who didn't look well in 1990 who look perfectly fine today - thank God. If Cole is living the high life in Florida, I'm very happy to hear it, because, the last time I saw him, he didn't look good. At all.

 

And furthermore, whether you realize it or not, for those of us living in a large city that has been ravaged by AIDS, when we stop seeing guys who, when we saw them last, didn't look so good, we LOGICALLY assumed they died - ESPECIALLY IN 1990. It was a very sad time back then. But maybe you're not old enough to remember that.

He 'retired' from porn and hustling around 1989 after receiving a fortune from a 'sugar daddy', the story goes. I am always dubious of these stories but I do know for sure he was worth over $1 million in 1989. Now I see he is showing it all in ADVOCATE MEN. What happened? All the money gone?

I think those pictures you saw were the ones he did back in the 80's. I saw him on Christopher Street probably around 1990 and he didn't look "well" - in that particular way that guys didn't look "well" in the early 90's. I've never seen him since.

MEN does do one retrospective in each issue, usually the last set of photos. I think that he is correct about these being intentionally old photos. As you saw for yourself, just because they're dated doesn't mean they're not hot.

You reported this "fact" so as to make clear that you thought he had AIDS, even though you had nothing on which to base such a claim other than rank speculation. Fewer things are more despicable than publicly diagnosing someone as having AIDS just for the fun of it -- particularly when you have no idea whether you're right or not, and obivously don't care whether you are.
