Gee, Godiva, I feel I'm out of it... I use neither expression, probably because a) I do not bottom, and am not all that concerned about topping and b) would not consider a one-hour or one-night stand "making love" but just having good honest to goodness passionate sex.

Well I kinda agree with both of you but I consider myself to have "Passionate Sex". When you say "Fuck" I think of a quickie, when you say "Love" err thats making love to someone beyond a client. So for me "Passionate Sex" is how I would be dubbed. I really get into my clients. I am not in love with them but I do connect. SO its hard to Just "Fuck" but I cannot make "Love" to them. I know the difference between making love and fucking as many of you have described it, but I must admit that at some point in the process, my boundaries disappear and I experience some kind of other-worldly state where everything from the sheets and bed beneath us to problems of the world evaporate. I always thought of it as a tribal ritual, the wonder of a connection with a single other being that I always thought of as love. I have never "made love" with a client because that is not possible for me to do. "Making love" is something very special that I save for someone special. Making love to me is basically having sex with your eyes still open and once you both get off you still wanna stay in bed afterwards and I am not talking about for the tip. So its like this:

I fully appreciate the responses made by a number of escorts so far and I readily concur that truly being "in love" with one's partner in sex rarely (if ever) occurs in the escort/client relationship.

However, the original question asks us to distinguish between "making love" (note this does not say being "in love") and fucking. To me, this boils down to the old discussion that has taken place so many times before, i.e., are clients looking for quick sex release with no-strings attached (fucking) or are they looking for an extended relationship with an escort including conversation, foreplay, afterplay, etc (which I again humbly submit is a definition of "making love"). Making love is an extended process which may occur between strangers, regular clients, and intimate partners/lovers of escorts. What distinguishes this process is the emotional commitment that either party brings to the encounter. One can make love with hundreds but hopefully one is only in love with one at a time.:)

It is interesting w/ the variety of comments on this much discussed topic.. The responses I read from both escorts and clients all have merit. An interesting nuance of language is the fact that being fucked can also have a negative connotation (like aloha also means goodbye). For instance, a married woman "making love" with someone other than her betrothed would mean that her husband just got fucked. By the same token, if a client fucked an escort and then ran off without paying, the escort would have then been fucked, twice.
