Toronto - where to go, who to see

I'm going to be in Toronto in a couple of weeks and would like some advice. Any good bars and clubs and any to avoid? What are the local gay papers?

 

Also any unmissable escorts and any to avoid? I've trawled thru the reviews, but I'm always sceptical on the "First review" ones.

Five is a fun club and Woodys is a great Bar. Remingtons for the strippers and Sneakers if you're into street boys. Zelda's for simple but fun eats. Byzantium for martini bar and fine restaurant.

 

Local gay rag is Xtra.

 

I would give my highest recommendation to aarronn of Toronto. I've been with him many times and even 2 vacations.

As always it depends on what you're looking for. Toronto is a big, cosmopolitan city with a sizeable gay community.

 

You can scroll down the topics here for a thorough discussion of Remington's. I was just there last weekend and had a great time. Most of the guys dancing there do "privates", just make sure you negotiate ahead of time exactly what you expect. The "regular" escorts who advertise in Xtra seem to charge the incredibly cheap rate of C$120/hr. Again, you'll need to tell us what kind of guy you're looking for for anyone to make any recommendations.

 

Besides Xtra there is also a local free gay mag called Fab. You can pick them up at most record stores and gay bars. There's also a gay bookstore called Glad Day at 598 Yonge that has them as well. There are also several other free papers like Now and Eye that have general entertainment news and local features as well as classifieds that skew more toward female escorts and massage, but also include some men.

 

Besides the gay stuff there are lots of other things to do too, and some pretty good shopping altho prices seem to have risen quite a bit lately which makes finding bargains a little more difficult.
