Does anyone monitor those escort sites?

There was a poster on another thread who said he saw Dean Phoenix on escorts4you.com. He retired awhile ago, but I peruse through that website and a few otherescort sites and notice OLD (and I mean OLD) escort notices. Leo Masters (who died a few months back - if not longer) still has some ads up.

Does anyone bother to clean these sites up a bit? Don't these ads have an expiration date to them?

And does anyone notice that some of these escorts have had the same picture up for years(and again - I mean YEARS). Christ, I look different than I did last week (no nasty comments please), and I would imagine it's not all that difficult to throw up a new pic.

I just wanted to share my view on this topic. Some Escorts advertise their websites on sites. Some Sites have different ads. posting time as such 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or longer. If escorts do not tell the sites what to do, the sites will keep posting the ads. I agree about new pictures. Escorts need to change some pictures to new pictures. This is good for clients to view it. So Clients will not be disappointed.

Thank you

I think there are a few sites, that once you're listed, you're there forever. My original west coast regular retired from the biz over 2 years ago now, and I still run across his ads every once and a while. The cell no longer works, the email link is dead, but the ad is still there. I emailed him a couple of months ago to let him know that one was still up. Some of these sites seem to pick up ads from others, and the guys don't even know they're listed.

It varies from site to site. Some webmasters will leave an ad up forever just to make their site look "more full".

And there are other reasons. The guy at MeetLocalMen told me recently that Peter Dixon is listed even though he's stopped paying for the advertising. Why? The webmaster has a thing for him. :7

Christopher Scott is still listed on Escorts4You and he retired two years ago. A friend of mine can't *get* listed there.

They all seem to do pretty much whatever they feel like doing.

Who would you vest that authority in?

Congress has been trying to govern internet content for some time, but they can't. Only the site proprietors control the content of their sites. As long as they're making money from advertisers and click-throughs, they're not likely to change the way they operate.

One of the values of THIS site is that we can discuss outdated (or downright bogus) ads and share information. When an escort retires (or passes away), HooBoy investigates and duly notes the result. Not all proprietors are so vigilant. <shrug>

That's life on the internet.

Some of these other sites could take a lesson from Hooboy. This site is being updated all the time and it shows, especially since Hoo quit his other job. It's obvious that keeping a website up to date will payoff as Hoo reported this is the #1 website as far as daily hits. Thanks again Hoo for the hard work it really shows! ;-)

I thought the National Male Escort Review Board was supposed to go over these sites to confirm the veracity of the listings. If they're not doing their job, I don't know where our tax dollars are going.

Well, I would imagine that SOMEONE keeps the site up and running...or do they just form and monitor themselves?

I find it interesting that some people just HAVE to get in a nasty retort to an innocent post....it is truly something I will never get used to....

Hi Guys!

I am glad this topic was presented, as it is important and needs to be addressed. I advertise my guys on a few of the Escort Referral Sites. Thus far, I have been happy with MeetLocalMen.com and American Male. My Updates have been listed in a timely fashion on both sites.

I wish I could say the same for Escorts4You. While Dave, the guy I speak to there, is a great guy and all, it seems to take FOREVER for updates to be made. I still have guys I submitted to him over a month ago that have not been added for some reason. And I am a Paying Advertiser (for preferred placement in the CA Section). And you're right, the site is in serious need of editing out those who are no longer in the business (or dead).

Not exactly sure what's going on there, but apparently there has been some internal struggle going on between Escorts4You and Guys4Rent -- a new operation getting started by someone who used to have something to do with Escorts4You.

Anyhow, I hope these matters can be resolved, as I know these sites are visited by many many many people, and we ALL lose when things are in disarray.

I hope that the webmasters of some of these sites see these postings, and will get a dialog going as to how to mkae things more productive for all concerned.

Thanks!

Dave

Did you notify HooBoy when that happened? In my experience, when a link is broken and is reported to him he either fixes or removes it. And he does it quickly.

It is not always the fault of the webmaster. I have run across escorts reviewed on this site who are no longer in business but there is no mention of it here. I assume if the escort doesn't tell the webmaster there is no way for him to know about it.
