hourly vs. overnight rates

I was talking to a guy on AOL (now I know why AOL whores are bashed here) about a meeting. He seemed nice, and quite my type. He gave his hourly rate ($150), which was normal or a bit below for this area. Then I inquired about his overnight rate, he said is simply #hours x 150.00.

 

I said he cannot be serious, as most guys have a flat rate for an overnight such as $800-1000. He went on to say one guy hired him, and went from 8 pm to 8 am next day and he paid him accordingly (12 x $150). I said good for you, but the guy sounds a bit slow to agree to that. He then became indignant. He went on to say that he does have a flat rate for overnights... that is flat 150 per hour times the number of hours. At that point I declined, I didnt want to dice words over the meaning of "flat rate".

 

Maybe I am the dense one here? Surely no one would give up $600-800-1000 for a long session. I think the convention wisdom is that you would never get 12 consectutive hourly appointments in a typical night, so accepting a lower lump sum is worth it.

Did you say that you weren't paying $150 an hour for him to SLEEP? If the two of you were bumping uglies all night I could kind of agree with his logic but I don't think that was your intention. I guess he got lucky the first time he did it or (dare I aver?!?) maybe he was lying to you. Wouldn't THAT be shocking?

Good point because the overnight, 24-hour and extended rates for escorts vary so much and it is hard to know what is the medium or normal rate.

 

European overnight rates are relatively low by US standards (almost half), and in some countries are equal to the 1-hour rate of a mdille-range escort in NY or LA. For instance, one can easily find a very good escort in Moscow (even through an agency with its 25% cut) for under $300 a night. Mushc depends on the market, of course, and on whether or not the higher price range would be attractive to clients. Amsterdam has rates all over the place, but some excellent overnights can be from $500 to $600 - perhaps lower.

 

You were right to drop the guy (seems his previous client was either a sucker - no pun intended - or completely so enthralled he did not mind parting with so much money for 8 hours.

I agree completely Matt! I have met guys who were from out of town and if the subject of escorting ever came up I was usually laughed at for my rates. Laughed at and then informed what they "Didn't do" and what they "charged". My laugh was always heard last though if only in my own mind thinking of the poor idiot that would pay 400 hr for a nobody who does everything except kissing sucking fucking getting fucked or rimming. So what's left? LOL I think those guys were just as high as I was! LOL

The guy is totally within his rights to charge whatever he wants in whatever form he wants. And you are totally within your rights to laugh at him in his face.

 

A suggestion: Why not set up two guys for that night: hire a guy to come to you for the hour before you go to sleep, have a great night's sleep without having to worry about a stranger with whatever bed habits he may have, and then have another guy arrive early in the morning? Are you really going to bump and grind all night long?

Not only do escorts not get X hrs * the hourly rate, I doubt most make the long-term rates they suggest. Other than the one-hour rate, I think that most escort rates are negotiable...
