I thought this was a very funny post and a couple after this were enjoyable.

 

Somehow this thread degenerated into name-calling and from the sidelines, I think it was all because of a misunderstanding or mis-reading of a sly tongue-in-cheek posting.

 

I'm sure everyone on this thread is a good person and have managed to steer the conversation off course by sheer misunderstanding.

 

I regret this has happened. Please, let this die. Or get back to worshipping Kirk. :-)

Yes, indeed that provided a new insight into the twisted minefield that is Half-Truth Teller's mind. Of course, he was still only half right. On a purely intellectual level, I can appreciate Kirk/Voltaire's ability to manipulate (as well as Nick's) and the fact that HTT has a great admiration for it. No problem there.

 

However, I can consider it my civic duty to keep HTT's titanic size ego in check. Truth to tell, I enjoy sparring with him, but don't tell him that!! Or is that half-truth to tell??

With everything else going on in the world, Kirk is trivial compared to far greater evils. Kirk and his brother are beyond sad and tragic examples of what an escort can be. In time they will go away and not by choice.

I don't think it would help very much at all; in fact, not at all. Aside from the fact that the former is defamation published by writing, and the latter is defamation published orally, there are very few differences -- at least very few material differences -- between libel and slander when it comes to the misunderstandings of defamation law which were plaguing deej.
