Patrick, I won't dispute the "dark and handsome" description of Talvin, but at 5'5" I really don't know about the "TALL" adjective.

Playgirl has always used gay pornstars in their layouts, but they were paranoid about using their "porn names" for many years. I guess they woke up to who their real readership is about the time they dropped the slogan "Entertainment for Women" from the cover.

 

Someone once told me Playgirl also had a fear of showing a guy's butthole. I dunno if it's true, but it's one of Talvin's most attractive (and tasty) features! I hope they've gotten over it.

Oh yeah, gay porn stars abound in PG. I get a chuckle every so often when the "discovery" (I think that's what they call it; when a woman supposedly writes them about a hunk they spotted, who subsequently is published) is a porn star, and they give some crazy information about the guy's occupation. They refuse to acknowledge reality.

Talvin e-mailed me to tell me he does NOT do women at all. He was just surprised at the number of women who access his site and sign up for his newsletters. I think you've hit the nail on the head here. For the first time ever, Playgirl wrote to me soliciting a subscription. I don't usually subscribe to porn magazines because I decide each month on an issue-by-issue basis (i.e. I go through all the mags and buy the one(s) with at least three guys I think I can get off on). Nevertheless, at $1.80 per issue with the subscription price, I couldn't very well say no. Have other guys here been getting subscription offers from Playgirl? Is this a change in policy to solicit to men? I really wonder what percentage of their sales goes to men... Given that there are tons of porn mags targeted to gay guys, and only one (that I know of) to heterosexual women, I would suspect that the Playgirl staff's bread is really being buttered by gay men. My local adult book store (heterosexual neighborhood) caters primarily to straights, and I have never seen a woman going through the male porn.

I will go even further to say that I have never seen a woman buy porn or going through porn mags. Has anybody reading this ever known a woman to buy porn or seen a woman enjoying the mags in the X-rated section? On the other hand, am I the only one who misses the "Young & Modern Man" contest they used to have every April issue of YM magazine? I wonder why they stopped that annual tradition...
