NYC Townhouse Escorts?

I have recently moved to NYC and have been to the Townhouse several times. Apart from other reactions -- I wish they'd take down the microphone at the piano so that people can sing along (and not just listen to the narcissistic semi-stlying of the various pianistas), and I'll NEVER get used to the smoking in NY bars after living in California -- I am wondering what the general take is on escorts at the Townhouse. Can one reasonably expect to find one or several there? Best times, nights? What is the code of the house -- approach and chat, wait to be approached? It certainly is not anything like the Rounds of old, where it was abudantly clear (and sometimes with bounteous abundance!) what the drill was. I like to meet and chat and size up socially before I commit to an escort, and loved the old Rounds. Thoughts?

There are escorts at the Townhouse, but unfortunately not like the Rounds in the old days.Most of the escorts are not so interesting - Asian twinks who think they are god's gift to earth just because they are young.Occasionally there will be someone who can compete with the good looks of the boys at the Gaiety or Stella's.

I think the management doesn't like to have too many escorts in the bar. Too bad, because I think middle- aged men are not so interested in middle - aged men!My reason to go to a bar is to pick up someone young and sexy and bring him home. Rounds was fantastic in that respect.

It is not so difficult to pick up the few escorts at the Townhouse, if you want to. Just strike up a conversation, and after you have heared the escort talk about his life as an art student or designer wannabe, then you can suggest to take him home. He will probably then tell you that he is short of money for the time being ( just moved to the city) and then you will suggest to give him something ( 150 to 200 dollars).

The Townhouse could have been a good bar, if there had been more of the real goodlooking escorts on display.I am sure , if more escorts would use it as a playground, more people would find it worthwhile to go there. I personally also like to socialize with an escort before I hire him. Something for escorts to think about ?

I think it safe to conclude that we cannot live in the past and must realize that Rounds was truly a different time that will never be repeated. No doubt you have to be well into your 40's to remember just how incredible Rounds was. I believe its hay day was without a doubt the late 8O's (1986-88 - at that point the Aids epidemic had still not impacted it) - New York was a very different and very sexy place in those days. I am still in New York 3 or 4 time annually - but how I miss those old days at Rounds - to this day I remember some of my finest fantasys being fulfilled by this 'BOY NEXT DOOR' paradise. Rounds was a meca of HOT 20 somethings - all fashionable, horny and well hung (lots of models and ribbon clerks) - it was the ideal environment in that the clients and the escorts knew exactly what they wanted and you could usually come to a great arrangement ($) before you had a chance to finish your first drink.

The heyday at Rounds was 1986-88 because "at that point the AIDS epidemic had not impacted it"?! By that time everyone knew how the disease was spread, the baths and sex clubs had closed, and half my friends were dead. What world were the people at Rounds living in?

Stella's has exactly what you are looking for it seems. A bar full of young escorts/hustlers (many very good looking and also hung) and men looking to pay for a "date." I didn't know Rounds but Stella's sounds like it to me.

Though I actually live in London, I remember ROUNDS, too, fondly -- it had a good upmarket feel to it, completed by the live piano singer in a side lounge. STELLAS is much more downmarket -- right down to the strippers in the basement lounge, who'll grant you a quick fumble for a dollar tip! But its also a whole lot more upfront (as are the boys, who are not immune to making *very* direct and intimate approaches). I *love* it! And it's in a much more central location, too -- just around the corner from the Gaiety. So for a complete evening, do the Gaiety first for some delicious eye-candy, and then top it (or bottom it) afterwards with some of the more approachable (and considerably cheaper) talent available at Stellas. Only problem is that many of the boys are from out-of-town (for some reason, lots of them live in Jersey City), so you'll need to provide the room. Have fun!
