In at least my case, I think Bilbo is on to something. I tend to hire on the reviews, so given the choice between an unreviewed and a generally positively reviewed escort, will go for the "known". And since I frequent LA and NYC in my travels-only time I hire-I've not encountered a shortage of reviewees.

My, aren't we too cynical for words. In every profession - escorting included - there are individuals who excel at what they do and who stand out from the rest of the pack. Is it so difficult for you to accept the fact that someone like Riccardo possesses qualities that might inspire enthusiasm from his clients. In the past 8 or 9 years I have been with about 25 different escorts most of whom are mediocre - at best - at what they do - according to my personal tastes - and a few were downright awful. Of the few who did meet my expectations, Riccardo stands at the head of the class. I have been seeing him steadily for almost 2 years and aside from the fact that he is warm, charming, intelligent and extremely handsome, the sex just keeps getting better. No, he is not perfect - but then who is?

How many 'perfect' sexual partners have you ever had? I can honestly say that in 40 years of a very active sexual life, I have had some really great sex, but perfection, never. And I don't expect it. But Riccardo comes as close as I'm sure I will ever experience. I have written 2 pretty enthusiastic reviews of him; he has never asked me to do so - and would never - and there are no quid pro quos. I did it because I think he deserved them and I'm sure his other very positive reviews were submitted for the same reason.

 

For the life of me I can't understand why you chose Riccardo as your prime example. Have you ever checked out the reviews for escorts such as Alec Martinez, Michael Brandon or Scott Matthews?

Sure, they're porn stars but that doesn't mean they're any better at what they do, just that they're a lot more expensive.

And boy do they have glowing reviews - and far more than Riccardo. On one day alone Scott Matthews received 23 - count em, 23 - very positive reviews. Does that make you stop and think? Or is it just that he is also very good at what he does?

 

On the other hand, I think it's a good idea if you nurture your suspicions about Riccardo and decide not to call him. I think he's really too good for an old cynic like yourself.

I agree in part and disagree in part. I have no problem with positive reviews, I have in fact written two myself. Were the escorts "perfect", gee probably not. However there was really nothing "negative" about them.

 

On the other hand, I agree that at times, some of the reviews do make some of the escorts sound like they walk on water. In general I look at those reveiws in two ways. First, possibly the experience was that good, and the reviewer wanted to convey that. Or, there is also the possibility that the reviewer became a bit to attached to that escort.

 

From my readings here, and other places, as well as some conversations I have had with some of the escorts I have been with, it is apparent that there are hose that hire escorts that can't distinguish fact from fantasy. The escort is in business for himself. Of course it is in his best interst to make his client during the time they are together feel special. However some actually begin to think they are in fact special to that escort.

 

There is an escort that I have been with twice in recent weeks that does not wish to be reviewed on this site for personal reasons. Both times I have been with him I have had a great time. He is charming, witty, incredibly sexy. I also think he is a genuinely nice guy. However I realisticly know that there is probably not a chance that a man like him would be intersted in me in a relationship type of situation. This is not to make me sound like a loser, but my age, and weight make good looking men not overly intetrested in that way.

 

Can this escort and I beome friends? That is always possible as we seem to share a great many interests. But I am not expecting that to happen, if it does happen naturally it does. I am simply enjoying the relationship we have with it's limitations!

The general skepticism here about new escorts with only a few reviews from "newbies" may also be a factor. Yes, it may cut down on the number of "bad" experiences -- but it also makes it a lot harder for a new escort to establish a creditable reputation.

I said that I was visiting San Francisco next month, that's why I mentioned him. I certainly did not mean to pick on Riccardo. Please understand what I am saying. I have faults, so do escorts. Small faults mentioned in a review make the escort into more of a real person, at least to me. We are all buying fantasy, so perhaps that's the way many people approach a review. You are right, there many escorts on this site with 20

plus glowing reviews. So I probably should have included their

names as well. I understand that you think Riccardo is great, so

There's a very easy way to get around the problem. You can decide not to hire any escort who has too many favorable reviews -- especially those escorts whose "over zealous fans" decide to frequently sing their favorite escort's praises in the message center.

No offense taken personally, Alan (although it might read a bit that way). I just felt that it wasn't fair for you to judge (or appear to judge) someone who you never met because a lot of people seemed to like him a lot. Of course, these things are so subjective there is no guaranteeing that if you met him you would feel the same way, but if you use the reviews as a basis for making a judgement than the odds are in your favor. And as far as not finding anything negative - what can I say. If I were writing about mate material than I suppose I could a little fault with this and that. But this is merely a great guy that I spend a couple of hours with each month; whose company I enjoy and who treats me with the utmost regard and respect. What's not to like? I think it might be very educational for you to hire him when you're in SF and see if you're right or wrong.

At this moment, it strikes me that there are four kinds of escorts:

 

1. those who want to be ‘loved’ or liked, albeit for a limited amount of time with no entanglements afterward (not that it might not happen rarely, but not the goiing-in position)

 

2. those who love what they do... performing sexuallly, possibly exhibitionsitically, and providing happiness to others,

 

3. those who manage to combine 1 and 2... there are a few I beliieve

 

4. those who are out soley for the monetary remuneration and perform or don’ to that end.

Today's review of Brian#2 in NY is a good example of the kind of review that always makes me think it was written by the escort or at his request. The use of phrases like "best investment you ever made" and "don't wait, call today" is just too much.
