LAST EDITED ON Apr-30-01 AT 01:22AM (EST)[p]I found it!! -- gotta love Internet search engines. And I was right on!

OK, guys... compare the pic on Larry's web site that is the second pic of the third row (laying face down with a killer, smooth body) ... now take a look at Marchelo's web site:

http://marchelo.web1000.com/gallery.htm

Now it only begs the question, WHO IS the guy in the pic? I have a feeling it's neither of them.

P.S. Do I have a good fucking memory or what!

Wow! Good work, it is the same picture. Maybe they are the same person? Does anyone know either of them? Has anyone seen any of the other pictures out there? Many guys use other peoples pictures. I know I have found some of mine being used by other guys.

Good work! However, at the risk of sounding like I believe that Larry can do no wrong, I should point out that he is a known model and as such it is more likely that Marchelo stole Larry's pic. You will note that it is the only high quality pic on Marchelo's site. I will also admit to being prejudiced against any escort who hits us with automatic female escort banners and that whinny and cheesy "P" voice over. In any case, it only broadens the mystery.

HooBoy, I think it's time you had a little chat with our Larry and threaten to take down his "reviews" unless he can prove the photo is his. He should be able to give you the name of the photographer. If it isn't his, he will have crossed the threshold into fraud.

If he is innocent, we can go back to our drooling and wait for a real review.

Well I have been studying these pictures on Larry's site, and I am now willing to bet money that maybe the only legit picture of him is the first one in the upper left hand corner (if that one is even him). I think the third picture is that of a model who happens to have a very strong resemblance to Larry. I remember when I first looked at those pictures, it struck me as different -- although both are VERY good looking!

If this Larry guy looks as good as his third pic, there would have to be SOME reviews.

I know I'm being cynical, but I think everything about this Larry guy is a fraud.

It is really remarkable how different "he" looks in a lot of these photos. Also, take note of the fact that he evidently collects photos of other "male gods", which are posted in a linked site.

I was once told that the way to see if two pics are of the same person is to look carefully at the mouth.

The third photo (extreme right of first row) looks VERY familiar to me, I feel like I've seen it in fashion photography SOMEWHERE, just can't place it.

What's up with the old man in one of the pics, anyway? Is Father Time one of his regular clients? Or is that The Old Man of the Sea? Could it be the Antient Mariner? Maybe Santa Claus is having a psychotic break and needed some tender lovin' care.

It occurs to me, he doesn't actually say the photos are of him.

Thanks for the info. Just in case anybody needed any more evidence. It's my personal philosophy that it's best to have the least to do with liars that one can. I tend to be very unforgiving of people in my own life who lie to me even for trivial matters (the main exception would be lying with the only intention to avoid hurting someone's feelings).

The Danny Damon fiasco was a good case in point. It started with the fake reviews. They weren't just deceitful promotion, they also contained many lies themselves: the size of his dick, his ability to deliver affection, his body, and so forth. Liars are not good people who've gone astray. They're bad news--people who care only about themselves. Drug addicts like Danny are usually in this category to begin with.

The best things to do with liars is to call them on it and move on. If you think that you can reform them, you're gonna get burned 95% of the time. Just my little 2 cents! :-)

LAST EDITED ON May-01-01 AT 06:28PM (EST)[p]well, to add yet another red flag-I just tryed to access his website today on angelfire and it is now "not available". Hmmmmmmm, seems he is becoming even more mysterious.

I also wanted to remind the board of something else that is making it hard for me to "let go " of the possiblity that there is still a glimmer of hope he might be a hot guy and have at least a few clients that think he is worth it.

I have been following this site and reading the reviews of escorts for over 2 years now. I can remember when Larry Marc Reid's original reviews were posted about march or april of 1999 on this very site. I was drooling over his photos then too ( he had a website then too with even some of the same photos that are or "were" on the website discussed this week on this thread). Anyway, I have a good memory too and recall that the reviews ( about 3 or 4 I think) were very legitimate and even remember one detail from the reviewer's account of his experience. The reviewer said he called Larry for an appointment on Thanksgiving Day and was surprised that he answered the phone and agreed to see him that day( or night). I think it was an incall, and the reviewer said he took to train to Brooklyn Heights and it was a nice apt. and was very pleased when Larry opened the door and he saw such a gorgeous young man before him. what struck me was that this exceptionally goodlooking man was so passoinate, and kissed him like he meant it, and was an enthusiastic bottom ( or "power bottom" as we seem to have come up with this phrase as a bottom who really aggressivley loves to get f*cked wildly). I was mesmerised by the thought of hiring this escort and it stuck with me for weeks. Well, around April or May of 1999 hooboy posted the bad news under Larry's pics/reviews that "Larry has retired and is no longer escorting". I was crushed! and I even posted a plea back then on this very messege board asking about him. I got a response from a former client that sadly, it was true and he left the escort business. Later on when Hooboy swithced servers and updateed the reviews , Larry's reviews were taken down and disappeared and I tried to get over Larry and accept that there were lots of other hot guys to choose from, but I never forgot about him. NOW, two years later, I come accross "Matthew" aka Larry Reid on AmericanMale escort site and my heart went pitter/patter again and I got all excited and started posting messeges here again in the hopes that he was indeed back and worth his huge fee. Well, with each day my hopes fade as quickly as his ads did on American Male website, and now too his own website. BUT, my point is: in 1999 he did exsist and had REAL reviews that raved about him. I still think he is around, just going through some sort of strange time and resorting to possibly forging his "comeback" reviews on this site. What I continue to find odd is that NO ONE WILL COME FORWARD AND SAY THAT THEY KNOW HIM AND TO EITHER "STAY AWAY FROM HIM"-FROM FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE- OR EITHER THAT THEY "HAVE BEEN WITH HIM AND HE IS GREAT AND YOU SHOULD GO FOR IT". Sorry to shout, but the lack of anyone fessing up to say anything about him( other than speculation) is driving me crazy. I got responses two years ago about him from this board! People knew him then, it is NOW that there seems to be no one willing to say anything about him or even claim to know him.

I think at this point, HooBoy needs to do some detective work and contact him and ask him what is going on and if he really is who he says he is and is legitimate. Afterall, Hooboy himself said he was suspecious of the reviews and "smelled something rotten" about them. So, Hooboy, do you remember the old reviews of him from two years ago when he originally escorted? Why can't you discuss what is going on with Larry and if you know something we don't?. I feel it is only fair to check this guy out and post what you find out for us. I know I would apprecieate it and put all this "speculation" to rest and let's get the truth and get on with our lives! :-)

Well, this has become a short novella, but I wanted to remind the veiwers of this board that he "used" to be a real escort and still "might" be if someone would come forward with the truth about him, whether it is good or bad.

Thank you

Curious, you are really in a bad way, aren't you? CRUSH-O-RAMA!

But what is refreshing about all your posts is that you're so honest about it. I respect that a lot, in fact. You've had your eye on this guy for years.

After a certain point, one must simply accept the irrationality of all of this and go with it. It's clear you aren't going to rest until this is settled. No matter how loud the chorus of grumbling by indignant observers becomes, it's not going to take away this obsession.

You may have to settle the matter yourself by contacting him, despite all the questions that have arisen here about this guy's honesty. I don't think it's HooBoy's responsibility to clear this up.

If you actually speak with him you'll get an instant reading on him by his personal style. That alone would be informative.

As long as he remains a Mystery, he retains hold on the mystique which has so powerfully mesmerized his admirers here and which he has cultivated so carefully as his ticket to success. But for the time being, this guy is a fiction, in every sense of the word.

Some of the best things in life are imaginary.

Speak of which, will someone please hurry up and stick his hand in this fire and get burned. So we call all move on.

Of course, I have to admit that I’ve got a crush on our mystery man too. All that AND a power bottom? What's not to love? Oh yeah, the false reviews and the questions of integrity. Oh well, nothing a pretty face and a power bottom can't fix!

His angelfire page has vanished.

But check out the guy in the DKNY ad on about p. 20 (unnumbered pages at the front) of the current issue of Vanity Fair. Is that our Larry?

Obsessing over this guy for two years! Well, I must admit I've obsessed over this guy who lived in my dorm in college many, many years ago. (Everybody in the dorm knew he was gay, but he denied it when I almost grovelingly confessed my feelings to him). If I could have closure on this obsession I've had all of my adult life for $500, I must admit my life would feel more complete, even if I were disappointed. (For me, closure would just be finding out if he ever came out, or just led his entire life in the closet). If this is THE obsession of your life, go for it. You'll probably have wasted $500, but you won't have these nagging obsessions anymore. If this is not the obsession which you'll never get rid of, I would keep my $500 and forget about this liar.

Hmmmm... might be the same guy as *some* of the pictures on Larry's (former) site. Check out the nose. I'm not sure it's the same as the guy in the face shots which seem to be more reliably Larry: nose doesn't seem right.

Also, note that the DKNY model appears to be wearing ash-blue eye-shadow to enhance the "dark, dank, hot sauna" effect... I wonder what that would look like in broad daylight!

I checked out the model in the DKNY underwear ad in the new Vanity Fair. Sadly, this is not "our Larry". So, the silence remains deafening from anyone ever having really met him. :-(

Hell, I am beginning to think there never *was* or *is* a real Larry Marc Reid. But, I will just have to wait a little longer until it is confirmed here or in upcoming reviews until I can let go of this phantom escort.

I decided to email Larry to seriously request hiring him for a session. It has been over a week now and so far he has not responded. Let's see, what do have so far: very suspicious self reviews, an ad for his services that disappears, his own website that disappears, not a single response from anyone claiming to have ever met him ( either from a legit review or on this messege board), and no response from him himself from his own email address. I don't think there has ever been an escort in the history of the internet that has ever been this difficult to get a hold of and find out anything about. Okay! I now officially give up! He must be a complete fake or fraud and his website/services/reviews were some sort of stupid joke. We can all move on now to other escorts who will not waist our time!

Good night everybody! Thank you for stopping by, please exit slowly in the back, and drive safeley!

Traveller,

Until such time as it can be established that he took anyone's money without delivering, he can't quite be described as a scam. There's no law that says an escort has to respond to e-mails or take on clients if he doesn't want to. The evidence suggests that he either has found the sugardaddy he was looking for or has decided to withdraw his services. Need I remind you that no one has sent in a negative review as yet? So who exactly has he scammed? If he had scammed anyone, it would not be unreasonable to assume that that someone would complain.

He may have posted his own reviews. He may have posted fake pictures. If none of his customers are dissatisfied, I don't think either matters a great deal. Advertizing puffs are not ipso facto scams. Judge the guys on product delivery, not product description.

Homer tells us that periodically the gods take little trips, such as to the land of Ethiop far to the south, for a little R&R. During such times they are unavailable even for momentous occurrences such as plagues on the host or spats among heroes over slave-girls.

Surely we can't expect a god to return the e-mail of a mere mortal like curious2000!

Perhaps Larry has descended from Mt. Olympus and has left us mortals for a while. Much as we beseech him, he answereth not.

But I should think he will have to return eventually, to drink some of that fountain-of-youth nectar that keeps him looking so fine, if only in the never-never-land of cyberspace.

Fine, dude. I've been at this game for a couple of years. This guy was around 2 or 3 years ago, when I tried repeatedly to get him. My money says no one will ever find him. Especially when he starts a post, and then splits. But that could just be the lawyer in me. Or the fact I have better things to do. Have fun waiting.

Later.

PS. It's going to be 80 today, and I think that means leaving early, heading to the beach and start humping (gotta love that word and bring it back) and shooting.

PPS. Some friends of mine bought the old Swamp and have turned it into Swa (pronounced Sway - don't ask, one worked for Goldman, Sachs). Could be fun (at least as much as the lockjaw Hamptons can be).
