Is it me or is every body on the rag today? Not even a full moon either :) OK since every body is on the rag I'm joining the troops! :) I have a gripe about some of you clients. Most of us who have web sites list our rates along with other information. Why must you constantly ask us what we charge and what we do for that? Its clearly listed in our web site. Please take the time to read them (not just look at the pics) <grin> One reason I don't engage in instant message conversations anymore. The same insipid conversations and the same repetitive questions. The moment you start talking money and sex in the same sentence I'm ready to hang up the phone. Our webs usually say top, bottom or versatile. Hint Hint!

There have been rather thorough discussions no this board regarding clarity between escort and client. Most agreed that clients should be truthful and upfront with the escort regarding likes, preferences, expectations, etc. Most also agreed that escorts should certainly likewise inform the client of their desire/ability to meet the needs of the client.

If I call an escort and ask "insipid" questions, it is to assure clarity, to make sure we're on the same wavelength and comfortable with each other, and to avoid potential misunderstandings.

I have hired about 25 escorts over the last 2 years, and I can assure you that there is no such thing as an "insipid" question to me as a client. While some escorts do have web sites, some more elaborate and informative than others, NONE of them are uniform in design and content. There have been many times that I have spoken to escorts to find that "versatile" to some means so only orally, and not versatile in the "true" sense.

There are also escorts who list fees, but charge additional fees for "extras".

As long as I am the client and I am seeking an escort with whom I want to have a good time with, I am compelled to ask "insipid" questions to assure there are no misunderstandings or problems, which I'm sure neither I nor the escort would want.

If when I ask these "insipid" questions I am offending the escort in any way, I'm sorry.

I thought that was part of conducting good business.

Paul you do have a valid point but being one of the Escorts that had the misfortune to be arrested in last summers NYC sting I have to disagree with you. These guys tape your phone conversations and submit them as evidence against you in a court of law dear. So anything that you say in a phone conversation can and will be used against you. Any gay man should know that top is top, bottom is bottom and versatile is top and bottom. Happy Gay Pride everyone!! :)

Actually a phone conversation is considered a non public place. I'm not sure of the laws in the US but here in Canada, the law clearly states that communicating a monetary exchange for sex in a public place is illegal, a phone conversation, or an internet exchange is not a public place...

Don't know about US.

And I agree, everyone is on the rag today, maybe some of us have had a bit to much to drink: )

Sean --- that would be fine if everyone was playing with the same set of rules. We know, however, that a number of escorts and escort agencies play games regarding fees, what fees cover, etc.

I'm sorry you had the difficulty with the sting.

However, I would venture to guess that a miniscule portion of the potential clients calling escorts are law enforcement (which is not a new risk in this business.)

Does that mean your potential "real" clients should be written off as "insipid"?

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had difficulty talking things through with my escorts nor have they with me. I can tell you that if I cannot discuss specifics with a potential escort prior to meeting, I will not hire that escort.

Paul I completely understand your point of view, but let me tell ya babe after the ordeal I went through last summer its made me a little skittish about discussing anything other than what's listed in my web site. Better safe than sorry :) Its not so bad in LA cops could give a shit about Escorts, they have better things to spend tax dollars on but in NYC its crazy. They're pulling these stings every couple months.

Yeah, unfortunately no answers here. I feel for the threat escorts are under from law enforcement.

That said, I can't fault you, or anyone, for being cautious and careful - you're right, better safe than sorry.

But, the next time you get an "insipid" question, you may not be able to frankly discuss it with the client/caller, but think to yourself that he's most likely a nice guy and not an asshole looking to harass you :)

(if you say that to yourself ten times, you'll feel better)

...yeah, right. ;-)

Well, it's late here, I'd better go now.
