Just curious since I caught a well reviewed one in LA on his first visit who was staying in an expensive hotel in Beverly Hills to, he thought, satisfy "confirmed clients" expectations. He had planned a 5 day visit and then lost 3 separate overnite`s after he arrived.

I still had a great time but felt bad for him and his next visit was at a very much downscaled location.Think 5* to 2*.

I`m sure LA is a gamble for cancellations but I`m sure other Cities are too ?. Any comments on this ?

I have never cancelled (except once with no choice)and tomorrow I shall be seeing see my new best visiting friend. :9

there are a a couple things that I have learned since doing this. One nothing is guaranteed, things come up and appts are canceled and two treat this as a business. And when traveling both things should be followed. Hence for the just in cases I try to keep my travel budget to a minimum. Rather then a five star hotel I will go for a three, and when flying I'll fly in the back unless I can get upgraded for free or for a minimal charge. The key to traveling is shop around! Rarely ever take the first price for a flight or hotel cause chances are a lower price can be found on another site. Not to sound harsh but it was foolish of the escort to totally rely on those clients to keep up their ends. I hope that he has learned his lesson.

Anton that SSSS thing is mostly random from what I've been told by TSA and the airline. I think I got one of those back in Oct when I was flying from SEA-ORD. I didn't like it one bit, the wand, pat down going through all my carry ons. It was a total time waster. Course 8 times out of 10 when I go through LAX or LAS my carry on bag ends up getting tested for bomb residue. Just one more reason why I have not been back to LA or LAS for a while.

I have had my share of no shows and cancellations in every city I have gone to and what sucks is there is not much you can do but hope for the best and simply make the most of it! That being said cancellations has never affected the quality of the place I stayed at...In my opinion I don't think a 5 Star Hotel is worth the price or the quality they present to the customer unless your in a bigger city like DC or NY,NY. I prefer a 3Star to a Maxim of 4Star.

I do think Greg is right on by looking over the prices and seeing what price is best and never NEVER forget travel insurance.

This is why "Regular" Client's are very Important to the Working Guy also! He has a much better chance of Cumming out ahead of The Game, when he sits down at Home Base and counts the Profits!

Cancellations in the Travel Section On and Off, Show Major Markets with Major Number of Guys "Working It",(Competition) tend to make for "Fickle" Appointment Maker's.

Any Successful FULL TIME Guy will say.. without "Regs" to pick up the slack, they wouldn't have been in The Biz as Long as they have and Paid the Bills. :p :P :p

I have to say that I have done well in the biz, and I have never had more than a few clients that come to me on a semi regular biases (For Monthly or even longer) I live in San Antonio and this is welfare city. I make the bulk of my money doing overnighters with visitors to San Antonio or from short trips to other cities. Through all this I think that if you broke down earning at lest $100 a day it would end up being around $30,000 a year and in San Antonio where a brand new house costs under $100,000, you can live very well.

My monthly L.A. trips have been relatively good to me. Cancellations are not a tragedy because I get to see my ailing grandmother and a couple other relatives each time. I've about a million cousins etc. in SoCal.

Lots of people in L.A. seem to want outcalls and so I can stay w/ family, friends, or cheap and sleazy hotels much of the time.

Unlike NYC where in my limited experience folks like incalls so cancellations seem more harsh.

Here in Chicago where I see the bulk of my clients I do get cancellations sometimes from business travellers who find they are stuck with a rescheduled meeting etc. Often I have thought they were jerking me around. But I always try (sometimes unsuccessfully) to be polite and understanding. And thats a good thing because lots of folk who cancelled on me call back later or next time and turn out to be really nice clients.

Sometimes a client gives no excuse or gives some lame excuse for a cancellation. I try and remind myself that it could be , a death in the family or diarrhea and perhaps he just doesn't feel comfortable mentioning the real problem.

It can be frustrating and costly, because along with the travel expenses there are still the rent and utilities to be paid at home.

But I love travelling and almost always have a good time.

My last trip to Chicago I was booked for the entire weekend but because of the winter weather I had cancellations left and right except for one since he lived not too far from my hotel. I did try to cover those that canceled but because of weather people just didn't want to go out to the city if they were in the burbs. Although from past experience I have never had someone cancel out in Chicago (with the exception of this last Feb) and I am pretty booked the entire time I am out there. If I consistently got canceled or lack of booking in a city I pretty much stop going or lessen my trips to certain cities.
