mike carey Posted April 7, 2023 Share Posted April 7, 2023 I can't speak with any certain knowledge about this, having used neither, but could it be that both google voice and burner apps are apps on your phone, which has a regular PSTN number, and that Grindr, also an app, can detect your PSTN number and disallows the burner number as they don't match? pubic_assistance 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Grindr will block anyone who's engaging in prostitution either buying or selling. My guess about being unable to use another phone number is that most everything is crossed referenced on the internet today..so there is NO real anonymity in cyberspace any more. Once you register a smart phone, it finds all your stuff. The only "burner phones" that keep you anonymous are those old flip phones without internet access. So not gonna get you signed in to Grindr. I was blocked a few years ago by some creep who reported me for no reason.
