Ok I've heard that the only dumb question is the one that you shoulda asked but didn't.

 

In that spirit the wording "Oral Top" has appeared in a few ads that I've encountered. What exactly does that mean?

 

Is that saying:

1) he'll only let you suck his dick?

2) he's basically a top but will suck yours?

3) he's just gonna talk a lot while he's cornholing you?

 

Am I the only one that finds this terminology at all ambiguous?

 

Ok my options may be humorous/crude but what's the concensus?

OK, here's another 'dumb' question. Why do many ads that emphasize they are for 'massage' or 'worship' sometimes point out that they are 'top' or 'top only'? Are they implying there's more service to be had than massage or worship? If so, I've let a lot of opportunities go by...

Another variation on this theme where I have seen confusion is the term oral passive. I have always taken this to mean receives head but since passive is usually construed as the female role in sexual matters (particularly anal passive where there is no confusion), some take it to mean gives head. Go figure.

Is there a web site out there that has all the common escort ad terms? Maye that would justify a new forum room? I know there are a lot of terms that confuse me but many can be found on wikipedia. It would be helpful if the escort ad sites held a common definition of terms as used on their site. As witnessed on the sites not all 'jocks' are the same. :+

The Best thing to do really.. is just to ask the "Working Guy" you have interest in, Just what he does and doesn't do, To define his AD.

I am guessing that you can interpret a massage ad by the context. Is he's advertising in a place that segregates "body rubs" from "massage"? If so, if he's in the massage section, there's a greater likelihood that there's NOT gonna be a "happy ending" unless the word EROTIC also appears in the ad. If he says that he's licensed or if the lisence number appears in the ad there's a greater chance that he's not gonna get naked.

 

I agree that ambiguity IS a PAIN. Particularly when it comes to massage ads. There's only so much that you can ask on the phone or in a mail before one of you starts worrying that the other guy's a COP playing entrapment games.

 

As to the "TOP ONLY" designator, it depends on the individual but its probably an indication of how much contact you can have with his ass before he objects.

 

Again the only way to be sure is to ask and sometimes that's difficult.

Oral top I have always interpreted that to mean that he is a top who will be amenable to oral both giving and receiving. If one advertises as Top I take it to mean anal top, only willing to receive oral. Since everyone loves a good blow job, don't think there is a term other than no oral for that.

I use the ad as a guideline rather than a set of laws. Have certainly found those that won't do half the things their ad suggests they might. In addition, have certainly run into those with ads that say top only who are begging to be mounted after a reasonable amount of foreplay, some expert teasing and perhaps an extra dollar or two.

What's an edge job? I've seen several ads where somebody was looking for one. In the last context I saw the guy was looking to "Looking to explore a connoiseur's hottest images of naked men while getting a super-lubricated edge job."

 

Are we talking about some kind of anal play? I HAD been interpreting the phrase edge job as a blow job until the whole "super lubricated" thing was mentioned.

Thought edging referred to getting someone close to orgasm and then holding them back and then bringing them further and further alone until a very intense climax is reached. It is stretching boundaries in that there may be say pain that is made slightly more intense to the edge of tolerance and then brought back up and beyond.

 

Is this a mininterpretation on my part?

My understanding of the way the term was used in the s/m community was that "edge play" referred to pushing the edge or limit of what someone was willing to do. Your definition certainly sounds closer to what this ad suggests. We may need an expert to clarify this.

I look at the Rentboy Ads as ambiguous that indicate:

 

1. Sexual Preference "Rather not say"

2. Sexual Preference "Top" but do not list Anal in "My tun ons"

 

Face it, if you are an escort and you would "rather not say" your preference, the ambiguity indicates that you probably would let someone pay you more money than you are worth. If you don't list Anal as a preference than you aint a top imho.
