About a year ago I also had an account with meet local men so did Rob Romoni. I felt that the site is to slow and is not set up very well. We both tried to cancel our adds with Matt and had no luck doing so. I was told by Matt at first "no problem I will take you off tomorrow". 3 months later I was checking my CC statement and saw he was still charging me. I then called him back and told him about the problem. He starting giving me shit and told me he would send it over to collections if I didn't pay. I wrote a letter to the better business burreau about the problem and reported the problem to my CC company. I also saved an e-mail from Matt stating my account was canceled and that no further changes will be added. I printed this out for my own records and forward this to Matt at Meet Local Men and told him if he tried to send this over to collections I have proof I did ask for it to be canceled.

 

If your trying to cancel your account with Meet Local Men ask for a e-mail or better yet a signed & dated fax stating your account has been canceled. Also let your CC company know that you have done this and have them note it on your account.

I am experiencing the same problems with this Matt Latona from mettLocalmen.com. I advertised with him in the year 2002 for 6 months ending in November 2002 and was paying $100 per month for basically no return on my investment with clients and dealing with an awful running slow moving site. I cancelled my advertisement with him in November 2002, but he kept my pics up on his site anyway, but moved them to pages 2,3,4,5. That's right. He put a pic of me on 5 pages. He has more non paying members than payiong members and keeps guy's profiles on there to fill his empty site. You will see the same recycled pics on all the pages without the consent of the model no less. When a model tries to cancel he keeps automatically charging the model's credit card. In my case he kept the PICS on when I canceled my advertisement. In July this year I sold my home in RI and asked him to remove me from the site since I am not paying as I canceled, or just leave me on if you wish because my new location is Florida. I told him under no circumstance that I want to buy advertisement with him, but if he wants to keep my pics on his site like he did for 8 months for free then that's his option. So what does he do? He charges me $150 on my credit card August statement and when I call him to discuss it he is rude obnoxious and will not let you get a word in edgewise and he threatens you with collections agencies. I told him I am disputing the $150 with my credit card company since I never authorized him to bill me for advertising since November2002 and he said that if I did that then he would turn me over to a collections agency and charge me for months November 2002 to November2003 for the time I was on his site. How can someone charge a person when they cancel advertising to begin with. If he wants to on his own volition keep people's ads running when they request stop on advertising then that is his own fault and not the customer's. Now I have to deal with collection agecies trying to tarnish my "A" credit because of this asshole. There is no connection it was mentioned in another post by Jake as someone he was going to contact about a problem he had wth Matt/MLM.

 

But the reason why you were on Matt's hit list is because he and HooBoy are partners. It's like dealing with the good and bad witch (Matt being the bad one). He by far is one of the most unethical people I've met in this industry and I have met quite a few.

 

Also, Bigjake mentions how old the profiles are at MLM , that is a good point. He still has profiles up of guys who worked years ago for a so. cal escort agency. He has to leave them up he has very little paid advertising so he needs to make the site look full.
