After appearing to be static for a long time I recently noticed some line-up changes there and wondered if they had gotten on the bandwagon. I'm stilll having problems with a business model that charges the content providers. Guess I'm not too business saavy. Thanks again.

i'm with you, TY. i've never paid for advertising. i'm considering starting though--but only in one case. men4rentnow generates dozens of leads a day for me. i need to check to see how many actually pan out. luckily, i'm still in their free trial period. i think they are around $30/month, so it may well be worth it for me if i've had several appointments generated by my ad there.

Interesting about men4rentnow. They sure came on like gangbusters a while ago, but I wonder how long their run will last when clients find that escorts who are "listed" can't receive email till they pay their new monthly tab (that's my understanding of how it now works).

 

Obviously, their hope is that many escorts heretofore listed for free will do as Ethan is contemplating and will now pay the $29.95 monthly listing fee. If a lot of those guys drop off, however, how long will it be that the clients stick around and search the listings daily?

 

FWIW, there are two competing business models among the sites I look at regularly: men4rentnow and americanmale.

 

I like men4rentnow because it's free for clients to view XXX pics, but I wonder how many guys I'm missing because they won't pay to be listed.

 

I like americanmale because, while I may have to pay to view XXX pics, it's free for escorts.

 

In the end (seriously, no pun intended), I vote for the americanmale model because I think over time I'll see more guys, and if I want to see their XXX pics, I'll just email them and ask to see 'em -- no need to pay americanmale for the privilege.

 

I've heard some complaints from escorts about americanmale when they were revising their site last summer. I'm curious -- has it improved?

Men 4 Rent Now/American Male

 

Men 4 Rent is having the same problem which this site (and other sites) are having with the change in policy at Pay Pal arising from their purchase in the last year by the fine people at EBay. They were not able to accept credit card payments from the escorts, thus they have not yet gone forward with their business model of charging the content providers to advertise.

 

As you point out, nearly every escort will provide any number of photographs, including full on nudity, to a prospective client; however, I believe some clients wish to "preview" the escorts before giving out an e-mail address. I think there is a place for both business models; however, as I have stated in a prior thread on Men 4 Rent Now, I think the charge will ultimately hurt the site and cost it to lose both content and "hits."

 

As for American Male, it is well established of the free-to-list sites and has the additional benefit of being easing to upload new photographs and for the escorts to make changes. While they had a problem earlier this year (which other sites have or could encounter) where the site was hacked, they seem to have been able to secure there servers in the last six to nine months. Speaking only for myself, I am well satisfied with this site.
