Hey guys - long time no post.

 

I got a phone message last week from someone at the Jerry Springer Show who asked if I was interested in flying out to Chicago this week for a taping of a show about male escorts. I called back today and confirmed that it was for real. Just wondering if anyone else got the same call?

I would not call that a label but rather a comment based on both a self-identification ("HAWK") and a self-description. In addition, the [[]Twink, Latino or Asian[/i] comment was not meant to refer to you alone so to respond as if it did misreads what I wrote.

 

In any event, I am not sure why you take offense, particularly to verbalize it in such a strong manner, when the statement remains true. While you might think Mr. Mancusco "attractive" or "sexy" you still have not indicated that you spent money hiring him as an escort. My comment was a simple one: if the Springer show was contacting clients, they would likely contact clients of the escorts whom they invited; since neither Lucky nor you were clients of Mr. Mancusco, based on both your statements and your prior stated preferences, it is unlikely neither of you would know if clients were or were not being invited.

 

As I state, I fail to see how this is offensive or even upsetting to you; nonetheless, to the extent that you may have found it upsetting or misunderstood what I wrote as I slight, I certainly regret that.

Only Franco would assume that the Jerry Springer show might actually follow some kind of logic. It is just as likely that they would invite me on to discuss why I don't hire tired old escorts who rarely see clients anymore* as they are to invite me to discourse on the value of the Pacific Rim to East-West relations! You might as well, considering it's all smoke & mirrors anyway... Jerry Springer has 'casting agents' who call people all over the country looking for those who are skilled at improv. A good friend of mine from college is now working for his show, finding actors across the country to come onto the show & create incredibly ridiculous scenes.

 

I'm not quite sure about preening yourself as an gay escort on national television, as it sounds like a one-way ticket to karmatic-hell. Let's all not forget about a certain escort who ended up going on a downward spiral after a stint on an MTV documentary show. I would recommend staying clear of this kind of publicity because it just invites too many loose-ends.

 

That being said, there was one point in my life (just after college), that i considered going on the show. My friend (from Springer) called me and we concocted a GREAT storyline for the taping. I dragged my feet when it came to finalizing the air travel and ticketing, so she figured i wasn't interested. End of story.

 

It's not the cameras i was afraid of... it's that bloodthirsty audience

Neither you nor anyone else on this board knows every escort I have hired or am in negotiations to hire. FYI not all of them have been or are the twink label type. As such, I can see why you draw the conclusion that you do, so I'll concede that you meant your observations as a comment and not a label. As far as HAWK you are partially correct, but use of HAWK has other intended meanings as well.

I did not read it that way. It was intended not as a general comment, but was directed soley at Lucky and myself. How could my response be construed any other way, as I can't speak for Lucky, only myself?

I'm not surprised that you won't fall for the Jerry Springer bait. Every now and then I've seen pieces of the Jerry Springer Show while waiting for my dry-cleaning (it's a favorite of the cleaner). It's hard to believe that any of the "real" people are real; and it's also clear that it's a set-up to bash whoever happens to be the "guest" that day. (Saddam extended better hospitality to his worst enemies.)
