Escort "roles" & body type correlation?

Hi guys!

 

I want to say ahead of time I'm very curious about this, but I don't want to step on any toes or reinforce any stereotypes or anything like that - this is just a legitimate question I have.

 

Perhaps my fantasies are different than a lot of guys, but I tend to be most attracted to young, fairly dominant/assertive Twink-type bois (for lack of a better term - I know some people aren't fond of these terms, so no offense at ALL is meant by them...that's just my "type" if you will and the best way I can think to express that quickly).

 

However, I've noticed that, except for a small minority, most of the physical body types I'm attracted to sexually are either total bottoms or passive versatile guys, whereas most of the guys with the personality I like (dominant/assertive but still gentle enough) tend to be a bit too muscular for my taste (I like some muscle, but not too much) and just not my overall type (sometimes older and bearish, and while I'm sure wonderful guys, just not a real turn on for me at this time in my life.).

 

As I said, there are some wonderful exceptions to this (my last appointment was with a very nice and dominant boi who seemed to enjoy the role and was certainly great at it despite appearing much more innocent - lol), but I guess I'm wondering why a large number of escorts fit into these more stereotypical roles. Is it because that's what the majority of clients expect, is it what THEY genuinely enjoy, or something entirely different? I know there's no single answer, but I'm wondering what the perception is among escorts and also clients regarding this.

 

I know as far as I'm concerned, if I let my chest and facial hair grow out and everything, physically I'd fit the description of a stereotypical cub or bear, but personality wise, I'm pretty submissive and passive/versatile.

 

It's almost funny, because I know a lot of bearish guys have "daddy/son" type fantasies, whereas my version has *me* being the son and a younger twinky-type boi being the "daddy" role for the most part. LOL.

 

Again, and sorry for the redundancy, no offense is meant to anyone by ANYTHING in this question - I'm just legitimately curious, because I feel like what I generally look for is rather oddball.

Thanks for the response. Oh yes, definitely there are people out there who are exceptions - I just mean as a general trend of course. I think it's really cool there are people out there who do break the mold, and there are definitely clients out there looking for that who don't fit the mold exactly themselves. I just think it's interesting that these trends exist in the first place and wonder where they originate.

It’s too bad that you find it so necessary to apologize for simply using labels that describe something and express a common understanding. All words are labels, and unless they are being used to demean someone, you shouldn’t have to be so paranoid about using them. However, you have obviously been reading this site and I understand why you are trying to deflect the inevitable.

 

To your point though…don’t you think it is just a matter of these guys expressing the very personality you desire? It seems to me that dominant, assertive men would just be more likely to hit the gym. Especially younger ones who do not want to be taken for submissive twinks.

As far as being paranoid about using labels, you have a point, and I suppose I am a little, but I have read where people who I might describe in those terms object to the terms themselves, so as you suggest, I'm just trying to not upset anyone who might be on this board with those feelings.

 

I certainly see what you're saying, and I'm not at all opposed to fit guys - in fact, the escort I mentioned I was with who was a bit dominant but still very much my type works out regularly and is quite strong as I found out. It's just...for MY taste, a lot of the dominant guys are a little OVERBUILT. I do like guys with a bit of muscle, but still lean. Perhaps that is incongruous with a dominant personality - I never thought of it in those terms. (I started working out a few months back, and though I'm not there yet, my goal is to be lean with some muscle, but I actually want to AVOID becoming too muscular...I guess that's because I'd *like* to be twinky myself even though I'm really not the type).

 

It'd be interesting to see how much personality type affects gym goals.

Since you are soliciting views, I thought I would throw my 2cents worth in. I think you are perhaps putting too much emphasis on the "look" you are seeking, both for yourself and the "boi" of your dreams.

 

Based on my own experience of going to the gym for the last 25 to 30 years, unless you are into a totally transforming experience like the newly elected Governor of California (I'm talking about his body, not his profession), you are likely only to achieve an improvement on what are starting out with. You have described yourself as a "stereotypical bear or cub". I don't see you as becoming "lean and twinkish" frankly, ever. It just is not going to happen. That being said, you could probably achieve wonderful results if you keep at the workouts on a regular basis and improve on what you are. That is a worthy goal and achievable.

 

As for seeking a twinkish top, you may have more luck here since I think these exist in fair numbers. Whether they would be "dominant" is another question. It depends to some extent on what you want in a "dominant" personality. If you review a sampling of the escort profiles on this site, "dominant" generally denotes a guy who has the physical attributes that one associates with a masculine image (big, muscular, often hairy (facial, legs, chest etc),but not the head which can be bald or marine type hair cut and a deep voice. Twinkish, on the other hand, conjurs up hairless body except genitals, lovely hair a bit on the longer side (blond preferably),softer voice and definitely youngish demeanor.

 

However, I stand to be corrected as someone fitting your ideal may very well exist on this site. I just can't recall reading his reviews.

Hey there. Thanks for the responses. A few clarifications are in order.

 

Incongruous basically means incompatible. (You may have been joking - if so, I apologize - I'm a pretty literal person. LOL.)

 

First of all, I'm very aware I'll never be a twink per se. I'll admit I sorta wish I was (just because that's the type of guy I'm most attracted to and I'd like to be sexy in my own eyes - lol), but I realize I'm not exactly the type, and I can be happy with myself as is if I get into shape. I *do* feel with some more work I can have a lean and lightly muscled body someday that'll make me happy - I'm off to a very good start having gone to the gym for a few months now and am getting to the point where I'm pretty pleased even though I've still got quite a bit of work to do. I'm also figuring out as time goes by how I like my hair, etc., so I'm getting to a pretty decent point even though I still have plenty to work on.

 

As far as what I mean by a "dominant twink", I'm referencing dominant in regards to personality ONLY (aggressiveness and enjoying being the one in control) and twink in reference to MOSTLY body type. I do like some twinky personality traits (the generally softer voice, a bit of gentleness/sweetness [and I don't think dominance and gentleness are necessarily contradictory], etc.). By dominant, I just mean the type that likes to take charge (playful pinning, verbal aggressiveness; maybe but not necessarily some kinks like spanking or tickling or even bondage,...maybe even body/muscle worship, etc.). I think it's pretty clear that there are basic "types" that most escorts fall into. Probably because these are the most common fantasies. Dominant tops advertise their big muscular bodies, their big cocks, their hairy chests, the things that are typically associated with "masculinity." Total bottoms show their bubble butts, and, often, slim, boyish figures, putting the emphasis on youth or androgyny. Of course, there's the muscleman bottom type too.

You do notice on browsing the reviews however, that most guys with big cocks advertise as tops, although some are "versatile", and most of the more average-sized cocks (no one is listed as small in this department) tend to be bottoms or "versatile".

Ethnic differences also play into the stereotypes. You'll see lots of black and Latino well-endowed dominant tops, but fewer willowy bottom boys. Conversely, there are very few Asian tops, most Asian escorts tending to advertise their versatility with rear view photos.

Bears show their hairy chests and bulging tummies, while some of the really musclebound body builders list "body worship" as their principal service (that one really escapes me, but everyone to their own taste).

Their are PLENTY of exceptions, and you can certainly find what you're looking for, especially in a big city like NY or SF. But there are definitely standard types, and yours is kind of the inverse of the standard.

Before I get flamed for being non-pc, read a few escorts' ads. You'll quickly see the standard stereotypes. I expect it's just a reflection of the market.

You make a very good point, and I think you're probably right as far as the stereotypes and respective advertisements reflecting the most common fantasies and thus market demand. I can see where an escort would want to advertise based on what he considers his best features to the market he thinks will be most attracted to said features, whether it be slim boyish looks, huge muscles, or a lot of body hair.

 

It may even very well be that a lot of escorts that might advertise as versatile twinky bois (or even versatile but mainly bottom bois) don't mind or even might like a more dominant role but don't advertise that way simply because it's more of a rare desire/fantasy. In fact, the escort who I had my recent experience with didn't advertise (aside from being versatile) as being at all dominant either - I was just interested and e-mailed him to ask, and we talked about it a bit and it turned out the idea appealed to him and he was willing to explore it with me. So I'm wondering if it's as rare as it seems, or if it just appears that way because of advertising trends and projected stereotypes.

 

(Not to get off on too much of a tangent, but as far as the "body worship" comment, I've never actually tried that, so I can't comment on if I like it or not - lol...I do like being [gently] told what to do though, so I think I might if it's what I think it is.)
