Is Onlyfans affecting the escort business?

Recently, I've been seeing a lot of posts in which the rates have routinely reached $400 and $500 - and even $1,000.

Do you have any thoughts as to whether some of the more popular escorts are doing so well from their Onlyfans business that they do very limited escort work - and are only doing it at super premium rates?

Unquestionably.

Also, it appears some RM profiles exist solely for the purpose of promoting a non-escort's OF.

Yeah, I've seen the links from Rentmen profiles to their Onlyfans page.

I think that that's the business model for a lot of guys on Twitter; they post some of their nude photos or a 10-second video of a porn scene that they've filmed - and then entice the viewer to join their Onlyfans for the full video.

I’d say no. At least not with the guys I’ve hired who are on RM and also have onlyfans account. I think the price increases have more to do with rm not allowing for rates to be displayed. So new escorts just put up whatever amount probably based on word of mouth or what they think they can get.

Do I think there is a new wave of rm ads used to funnel traffic to onlyfan accounts… definitely. However as I mentioned I don’t think fan accounts are the reason rates have increased.

It would be interesting to know how many established escorts have ended up exiting in favor of OF and the like. I agree that there are a lot of newish RM ads which are likely just advertising for OF business, or effectively being a screen process to identify clients willing to pay a big premium for an escort.

I have a lot of respect for successful escorts. As a rule, they've managed a level of self-discipline and social skill that I would have serious trouble matching. I don't want to appear dismissive of guys who are solely in the online model category, but it seems like escorting is the more challenging job.

I tend to agree that OnlyFans or whatever subscription based video service that doesn't have to be live has directly and indirectly affected a good segment. Even some escorts/SA guys who don't have video services still hear about how much others are supposedly making whether it's accurate or not and feel like if they're meeting in person it's a more premium experience and it ups the expected consideration for their time. I've recently had one gentlemen up his $400/hr rate to $800/hr and candidly told me that was why he did it.

Agree with the observations made.

I sense an almost crypto-esque proliferation of OF and similar “content” marketing which I think will similarly bust later this year into next.

My hope is that this actually creates a much larger pipeline of escorts who are no longer able to rely on selling their content - especially in a recession…

And then prices will hopefully normalize (for the most part) across a much larger group of providers. At least that’s my cautious (maybe optimistic) prediction.

Only Fans has been very useful for me as a screening tool.  My click thru rate on RM ads is less than 10% (zero interest in the other 90%).

I can safely say that, of those I do click through on and my interest is peaked, of those who have OF pages, I don’t hesitate to take a month subscription (I hit “don’t renew” first thing).  It’s great because you can see tons of historical posts for one low flat amount.

In 70% of those instances, the OF page lessened my desire to meet rather than increased it.

Hence, OF has saved me a ton of money and disappointment and I therefore am a big OF fan!!

I too use OF as a screening tool. It can be very instructive. (Same goes for twitter and Adonis.) But it can be tricky to screen for who's seeking clients versus who's seeking collabs.

There are a handful of OF guys who have become my dream hires (though they don't have RM ads) and I have noticed a handful of very active OF gents who reliably advertised on RM but who no longer do so.
