Christ, I think when you invite someone to dinner that the other person should feel free to order what he wants and should feel comfortable enough to do so. Don't blame either of you that you chose/agreed to go to a restaurant that over charges on drinks and/or food. You're obviously not a vodka connosieur (sp?) or you wouldn't make such a blasphemous statement about vodka which is indeed one of the gifts of the gods. :)

If this is how you feel, then why even bother with dinner at all, even the first time. What the heck if you're paying a 3 or 4 figure fee for an overnight, then you can afford to pay for an expensive dinner/cocktails.

Huh? I don't follow this reasoning. If your invitation comes with limits then it is not a true invitation, at least as far as manners go. Call drinks????? Yeah, those are the rot gut whiskies of the world - you know the type, the vodka is made in New Jersey and the scotch is aged 2 years in a tin barrel in the Ozarks. :( BLECHHH! Who wants to drink that crap! Why would anyone spending the bucks for an overnighter/longer stint on the small things? And if the guy is restricted to your tastes/cost for food and drinks what are you spending the extra money and time pursuing? If you really like the escort in all ways, and his meal/drinks come to $60 that's it? You'll never hire him again, but will hire someone less satisfying who's meal/drinks come to $30? Doesn't make sense to me.

Why do so many people get his name wrong? It is Benjamin Nicholas, and yes he is a real class act!! :) He knows my feelings about "cheap vodka" and never balked at buying me a cocktail made with that expensive, high classed vodka. And, btw, I tell him all the time that he has a great mom because she raised such a great son. :)

Benjamin is a good guy but you can't automatically make that correlation. I mean, my mother is a complete nutcase and look at me -- oops, bad analogy. Okay, Benjy's mom must be very cool. ;-)

Well Mr.Hawk I really just putting together a compilation of things that CALL BOYS(read hookers)have done to NOT endear themselves to me.

If you were a guest at a buisiness lunch,or a getting to know you over lunch job interview than I think you would have the common sense to follow your host lead.

My post was not so much about the cost of items as it was about a disregard for your host(the john)If the fella was hungry,than by all means-order the porterhouse.But to order something so costly,simply because it is one othe most expensive things on the menu(short of lobster-which rarely is cooked properly in a steak house)and then leave most of it on the plate,is rude,to the host,and the chef.

And if you normaly drink stoli,but want to impress someone(who the waiter-it sure does not impress me)by odering Grey goose or Chopin(silly products-great marketing,but what was it that Barnum said about marketing?)

And by the way, a CALL drink is something ordered by brand name.A WELL drink is what the house pours if you do not specify.Very few quality houses pour"rotgut"It is a sign of the overall quality of the establishmment to pour a good drink(Beefeater or Tanquaray gin,Stoli or Smirnof silver vodka,etc....)the buisness they would lose is not worth the few bucks difference with lower quality brands.

And "high class"has nothing to do with the price of a bottle of vodka.

Well, I meant "must have" not "has" since I've never met Benjamin's mom.

Whatever happened to manners and just plain courtesy? As far as "policies" go, as a rule, when I go out with a client for dinner either "before" or "after", I try to find out what he is having and then order something that is at least two to three dollars cheaper than what he is having, even if it means that there is like one choice left on the menu and it's liver with broccoli or something terrible like that. I think when you are "on someone else's dime", client or not, common rules of decency should tell you that this is not the time to try to sample the lobster (unless you are in New England and there is nothing else on the menu, which happened to me once. I still felt bad).

 

Clients usually tell me "oh, get whatever you want", but personally, I don't think I would enjoy my spring rolls / steak / shish kebab if I knew that I am ordering "above" the person who is paying for it. As far as flying and accommodations go, I guess I have been living in "poor" countries for too long to even think about first class arrangements - *especially* if someone else is paying for it. If things get arranged for me beforehand and it turns out that it is more than I would have arranged myself, I do appreciate it, of course, but I would never EVER expect it. That's just presumptuous. Whenever did escorts get this sense of entitlement? Stop using your clients as an ATM machine. Really.

Great topic.

 

After 3+ years of escorting I finally flew first class and stayed in a 5 star hotel. It was awesome. However of course, not at my request. I prefer to travel paying the lowest rate possible. Typically I bid for a fare on priceline.com and let the client know I am more than happy eating at their home or at a Denny's etc. I know and am considerate of the fact they are paying plane fare, hotel cost at times and all my meals while there. Give the guy a break. I have heard alot about the individuals demanding first class from clients and really am ashamed at times by the actions and demands of my peers. I guess to sum this up, just one question to the escorts, what is your repeat client ratio, better re-evaluate how important the first class accomidations are if the ratio is low.

I have traveled first class, but I usually am frugal and go coach.

 

I go coach with the escorts also. It makes more sense. I would have someone at my house only if I knew him, and wanted to feed him (at home). I could not get out of my closet long enough for a public meal.

 

LOcal guys are best, unless you have run the gamut of what is available. In that case, YOU should take the weekend, it is ultimately cheaper.:7
