A new thread from an escort en route to London makes me wonder if escorts try to turn a buck wherever they go. Do you ever just go on vacation and enjoy yourself without putting your sign out or accompanying a client? One would not guess that from the travel threads!

Another question: What are the legal problems involved in working in foreign countries? For example, an escort recently inquired about escorting in China. To me, he might as well turn himself in to the authorities upon arrival since I doubt that word of his escorting would escape the local spy.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not always about the all-mighty dollar~

 

I try to schedule a week off a month for myself when i can simply kick back, possibly travel with David (my guy) or just be a total vegetable. It's a good time to just organize yourself & make sure things are going in the right direction.

Yes, they do take vacations. Last fall I went to LA with my sister. I didn't work or have sex of any sort. I did sleep with Franco though.

 

This past Thanksgiving Weekend, I went to South Beach for the White Party. Once again, no work or sex of any sort. It's nice to have a break every now and then.

There are working vacations, like I am on presently, where you can combine travel for work with travel for pleasure like any other person does. Yesterday in Manhattan, a client took me to see a play (his ticket, my free time, a thank you for a prior encounter), I met an escort, I played tourist, not one single client, although I did return phone calls and responded to e-mails.

 

Like Benjamin, I take Monday and Tuesday off and guard them very religiously, they are the equivilent of my weekend.

 

When I went to Oregon last year, I spent two weekends in Portland and the middle of the intervening week with my best friend hiking, camping and bike riding in the middle of nowhere one hour east of Portland.

 

Like Gabe did last year, I am going to Provincetown this summer and also Martha's Vineyard, in connection with a working trip to Boston, but not to work in those vacation areas.

I am going to Europe with a client full time so while I may post it in Escort Travels, just so people know I do this type of escorting, I cannot begin to imagine trying to escort there or someplace more restrictive like Thailand or Hong Kong on my own, as I am doing here in New York or do elsewhere.

Yes, I'll be 4-0 June 3. I have dinner/dancing/partying with my bestest friends Saturday the 31st and then dinner/etc. with my business partner and trainers/instructors from our gym the following evening. I found myself interesting the mix travel-for-work/travel-for-pleasure. I always try to arrange a good combination of both.

It depends on the country. I never had problems escorting within the US and throughout Europe. It’s different issue when it comes to the Middle East and Asia. Last year I was invited by a client to spend a week in a country which considers that having sex with men is a crime. Hopefully, everything went well and the experience was positive.

If that's your experience, I'd be curious to hear why you keep hiring escorts. I'm not being sarcastic here. Most of my clients tell me that on the whole, with some exceptions, their experiences have been positive. The same is true of my experience with hiring escorts. There have been a couple of duds but most of the time I've rather enjoyed myself. If that weren't the case, I don't think I'd keep hiring. Why do you?

Nope, no one has to do it, and no one has to buy our services. I assume that both parties are acting of their own free will.

The $200+ an hour is what you get charged for the appointment. I don't know any escorts who actually make $200+/hour. The ones I know, myself included, have to spend time running our businesses that we are not getting compensated for, so that what we actually average over the course of a week, while hardly chicken feed, comes to much less than $200/hour. I'm not making any special pleading here; the same is true for a lot of other self-employed people. If an escort works for an agency and the agency takes care of the business side of things for him, guess what? The agency takes a substantial cut. And the weekly income is anything but guaranteed. At any rate, if you're not happy with what you're making in your current profession, one of the advantages of escorting is that anyone is free to take out an ad and announce that he is an escort. Give it a try and then come back and tell us whether the job is tough or easy on you.

Have you? If so, have you ever acted on that consideration, or do you just prefer to complain about it? I don't advocate anyone wasting their money on a service or product that regularly brings them dissatifaction. Hi, I was recently in London for 4 days and I had enough time to sightseeing, shopping, meeting people, visiting museums, and I also met some clients...

I think you start from a wrong assumption: people generally think work=boredom / out of work=fun, but it's not always true.

I do take vacations, all the time in fact. I took november and most of december off, then again in march. a good portion of that 'vacation' was due to a health related issue(nothing serious for those questioning, just a bit of a scare), did I get sick pay? nope. Did I get to enjoy my 'time off'? well not really.
