>How do you get around hotel elevators that require room keys

>to operate them?

Did you put a hex on me or something? Derek and I finally experienced the hassle of needing a key to ride the elevator last night. We walked past security & right into the elevator, pressed the floor button & stood there like fools while the doors closed but we stayed on "L". That's when little lightbulbs went off over our heads & we said, "Oh, he has to come down & get us." Thanks a lot, axebahia! :p

No hex, I promise, but can you name the hotel so I can be sure to avoid it! It's a huge disapointment to me to find that out after I check in.

I have had at least one hotel where they have had to call up from the lobby to get a pass for my "visitor" to come see me. Sort of embarassed the escort but he handled it well. Especially if you are a guest and warn them in advance.

Bigger problem I have had is hotels that will not put calls through to the room unless the caller has your full name, i.e. last name. The hotel has your true name from the registration so the escort can not call you unless you are willing to give out your real full name. One hotel I was in the operator called and said the caller does not know your name, do you want the call. Any ideas around this one?

] yeah--when I do the hourly thing, I just call down to the switch board and either tell them that "Mr John Client" is visiting my room on business and expecting some calls and to add his name to the computer so they are put through or else say I've paged a package express service }( and they will be calling for my room number without a name and to put it through--has never been a problem. By the time I do oveernights, we know each other's name and no need for the secrecy:+

This is s great thread. Took me a few searches to find it. My additional question is, has any escort experienced a hotel employee recognising them over time and becoming suspicious or even rude upon your arrival? I would hate to pick a hotel that was not hospitable to my guests. Thanks.

well

Hotel employees also recognize clients and talk about them, not only escorts. One time an hotel employee mistreated me so the manager had to come up to my room and apologize. Other times they won't give me a room the next day since they knew that I had an escort in my room. It was fine until the escort came over in the evening and stayed overnight. They suddenly told me that there is no room available for me. I proved them they had many vacant rooms using a little of trick so I was able to stay but they still moved me to a lesser quality room. It was embarrassing for me and I felt sorry for the escort too. In most cases they don't bother you and respect your privacy so I don't think you don't have to worry about it too much. Some concierges are gay too. There is a lot of discrimination against gays still and some businesses will welcome us but can't wait for us to leave. One cleaning lady intentionally put on gloves in front of me to show how filthy the room is and in other rooms she doesn't wear gloves. She tossed them away as soon as she was done with them. If you have escorts in your room they probably know so it's better to not go to the same hotel every time.

How would they know he was an escort and client versus say, two guys traveling together sharing a room?

I've never had an experience like you describe. I've always booked a room for 2 guests. Usually a king suite which has a sleeper sofa and a king bed. I just like a lot of real estate to roll around in. Plus in the hotels I stay, maids are never allowed in the room with the guests. They come when we are not in the room, or don't clean the room at all that day.

Good question. I'm probably making a mountain out of a mole hill but just like I believe some hotel employees may remember me if I have stayed there often, I was wondering if they would also remember escorts who may come and go somewhat frequently. This may not be the case at all, I'm just trying to make the experience as easy and pleasant as possible for both of us.

Nice hotels

You must be staying at nicer hotels. I get interrupted all the time. One time a maid walked in when we were lying on the same bed, luckily we were not naked. One time I was interrupted while changing. She just shouted "maid service" and stormed in. To her luck, I was in the bedroom so I closed the door so she could not come into the bedroom. Trust me it happens. The age difference and I'm not that type of a guy who can be seen hanging out with hot guys. One escort joked that I have to pay a lot for me to hang out with him. lol. He is a good friend of mine now. They can just tell. I would appreciate it if they think those hot escorts are just my bag carriers instead. I certainly doubt that. One hotel staff rolled her eyes when I told them one was my assistant. I have so many stories to tell but I will stop here.

If it comes up, he's my son. If we don't look alike, my step-son. One day, he'll be my grandson, I'm sure, since my taste in men hasn't changed since college!

Here in Vegas, there's really no "rhyme or reason" to security at the hotels...Some of the higher end hotels (Four Seasons, for example have no security at all), while an older property like the Sahara has a guard posted at the elevator bank!....Any GOOD escort (in this town) will have a collection of room keys to avoid inconveniencing his client, although sometimes it IS unavoidable.

That's a great idea about collecting keys. I'll have to start doing that. The only time I've really ever had a problem with security is at the Four Seasons in Midtown Manhattan; they refused to call the clients room because it was so late at night and my client had turned his cell phone off for the evening. Luckily, after about a half hour my client called to ask why I was delayed and I explained the situation and that I was waiting in the lobby.

In my experience, most New York hotels will call up to the room even without a last name. The elevator situation can be avoided by just waiting for someone else to insert their key for you.

I too have encountered this "issue" before. I travel extensively for work and stay in very nice hotels. I find that the hotel has less of an issue with "traffic" during afternoon or early evening hours. Anything after 10:30 or so requires an added layer of security like having a card key for security. I live in nyc so don't know the situation here; however, sometimes when I visit friends who are staying in a hotel I do see a security guard screening guests for their keys...even during normal hours. This was more common right after 9/11; i think things may have normalized right now. Not 100% sure though.

In London, i remember staying in a posh townhouse like hotel and had several escorts visit me. On the last day of my stay (day 5), the concierge came up to me and said "you know, we could have arranged for some nice hot guys for you too". I wonder how he knew??? Must have been the frequent requests for refreshing the towels or the condoms in the waste basket... don't know.

They know. I hope there is no one in the hotel business here. I won't say anything that might offend them. I do think they know. It happened to me once in Indianapolis right after an escort left. A front doorman suggested that whether he should come to my room to watch football while I was waiting for my car. I wasn't sure at that time what he really meant so when my car arrived I just left. When I got back he happened to be there about to "leave for the night" and showed me to the elevator. Well I can't write what happened next..

Greatness... now you have us all curious. Did you write a review after that encounter? Maybe you could give us a brief summary and or let us know if that doorman is still at that hotel!!!!! I am pretty impressed that happened in INDY, but then again, I am sure you are a very striking and handsome man that a lot of guys lust after... :-)

hmm I never tried that but what step son will sleep with his step father in one bed... I thought about asking a roller bed once.. Just to show that we are "not" sleeping together.. But that's too much and I should ignore what others think. I wonder whether it's because what I look like.. I should just cover my face with a pair of big sunglasses and a big hat before I enter the hotel.

Most hotel employees are understanding and some concierges are gay so it's not like what it used to be so I don't think you should have any problems. I just had too many weird experiences. Maid wearing gloves in front of me and a maintenance guy coming up to check whether there is a leak somewhere in the room. The escort almost jumped out of the bed.

Distant cousin always works, no matter what age difference. You could even pre-prepare an elaborate story about how his grandma's sister Vida married your uncle Elmo, spin a yarn, and end impressively with "and that's how we're related to Andrew Jackson!"
