Absolutely agree with you. I am still amazed at how many escort have such bad pics of themselves. I would think that anyone who has an ad on any internet advertising service would at least have quality photos to send to prospective clients. Let's face it, the first thing that will attract customers is HOW YOU LOOK. If you can't have a decent picture to show, it doesn't say much about your services. What can a good set of photos cost? Surely they know someone who takes good pics OR at least, they can use the barter system....one free encounter for a set of good pics. Also, I agree that a good face and body pic is preferable to a cock only pic....or ass. You otherwise risk the supposition that the cock and/or ass ARE NOT YOURS.

A few thoughts on photographs:

 

While this has been discussed before, I am a big believer on using current, recent photographs. I even sometimes incorporate this with my clients. I recently went to Vegas with a client and had him take pictures of me and took the rest myself with the self timer (which is how many of my own photographs are taken).

 

Clients spend there hard earned money on their encounters with us and, in addition to getting good companionship and a quality, memorable experience, the client is, IMHO, entitled to receive a very close approximation of what he expects visually. Of course, a client should also expect and receive the type of personality and experience he anticipates.

 

One thing all clients should understand is that some sites will not update your photographs or do so promptly. I have tried to get three sites - which shall remain nameless - to change my photographs to more recent ones with out any success. You should request that your potential escort point you to the most recent photographs of him that he has available or simply request that he do so.

 

If by reviews and attributes, an escort intrigues you, I do think you should give the guy a chance and write to him and ask him to either supply a link or to email you the most recent photograph - of a type you would like to see.

 

As for face photographs, for any number of very valid reasons which have been discussed here and elsewhere, some escorts have very valid reasons for not including their face. However, many of them have resolved this issue by including good quality photographs of themselves which show just about everything but. Rick Munroe, Derek Ross, Rod Hagen (who has actually shown his face occassionally), are good, well-known examples of this.

 

Finally, I will add that when I was asking for feedback on the initial set of photographs for my Gay Dar site (which I changed almost once a month), the most common one was why did I not have a hard on shot. For one thing, I prefer to email those to clients once they have expressed a sincere or legitimate interest, or I prefer to send it them as a link as many of my clients are on AOL.

Getting decent photos isn't necessarily an easy thing. It takes more than a disposable camera, a horny friend, and the right mood.

 

I've seen candid shots of really hot guys that just didn't look good. Put the same camera in the hands of a Bruce Weber, or any other pro photographer, and the pics would look entirely different. But those guys aren't cheap!

 

I've actually helped a few guys out with custom pics for specific purposes. One of the benefits of a digital camera is they can review the pics as soon as they're taken and kill anything that's really just bad before it gets out and takes on a life of its own. But not everyone has a nerdy friend with a digital camera willing to take pics with no return favor expected.

 

Believe it or not, not everyone has hot pics of themselves. And they're not a "snap" to create.

Even better are digital video cameras. If you have a tripod, you can just tape yourself (and even see yourself on the monitor, so you can tell what looks good and what doesn't), then capture stills from the video. It's easier (and you have more opportunities) to capture 'the decisive moment' in which you're not blinking, yawning or doing something unphotogenic. And the easier you make it on yourself to take new pictures, the more often you'll take them.
