I can't stand the usual scented oils that many masseurs use. :-(

My favorite massage product is Biotone "dual-purpose" message cream. It has a light scent and it's very smooth. It leaves the skin feeling clean and not oily. :)

You can order it from the Biotone web site.

Unless an escort specifically mentions massage, I wouldn't expect him to bring massage oil if not requested beforehand. I bring condoms and lube to appointments but don't always bring massage oil unless there is interest in a massage expressed beforehand.

An easy place to get massage oil, besides the bath shops and internet, would be a health food -oriented store like Whole Foods. They'll probably just have one kind, but it's an alternative if you're in a pinch.

And it might be a no-brainer, but as moma always says, don't mix your massage oil with latex condoms.... :9

I would think that if an escort mentioned that he gave a great massage he would then have his own oil to bring as well. However, if you want to look for your own the place I use is on the web at rainbowmeadow.com. What I do is get denatured coconut oil which is easy to transport because it 'freezes' at 76 degrees F and so is solid until you are ready to use it (and warms very quickly in hot water or a microwave) they also have plenty of other oils to use as a base that many people prefer for various reasons.

The other reason I like this oil is that it's unscented and so you can get seperate oils which have scents that people like that can be mixed at the time of a massage according to whatever preferences someone has. As illustrated by a previous post some people don't like the scents that come with premixed oils. I would assume that some escorts or guys that offer body rubs or massage may have the same aversions to certain scents as well.

Hope this helps. I know I can't spell so if there are lots of misspellings forgive me :)

A recent review of an escort (not a masseur) included the advice to "bring massage oil, since he is rather good" at including a massage among the session's activities.

I would have thought that this would be an item that the escort himself would bring (and would be glad to get some response on this issue), but that's not my main question.

I've looked in local (Long Island) drug stores and haven't seen anything specificially called "massage oil." I know there is a product called Biotone that some masseurs like to use; one masseur I hired mentioned that he used pure grapeseed oil. What do you recommend and, most important, what kind of store carries these kinds of supplies, and in what section?

Thanks, with hugs,

Dear Woodi,

As a non-escort, forgive me for butting in but... For a number of years, I had an escort begin with a massage and then things got hot. He brought his own oil and the scent of it still reminds me of him. It is Light Sesame Formula Body Oil by Neutrogena. It is available in the skin care section of CVS, RiteAid, etc.

I've started using the Neutrogena body oil lately. It's nice stuff -- a little lighter than a lot of massage oils -- and the skin absorbs it quickly enough that you don't feel greasy afterwards.

And yes, the escort should bring it unless massage isn't something he advertises as doing and you haven't discussed it. Even if he doesn't advertise it as part of his services, now that he's gotten a review saying that he does it'd be a good idea to start bringing some along. But if he doesn't and you'd still like one, any regular body lotion you happen to have handy will usually work fairly well.

Woodli,

Make it easy on yourself and get it at the supermarket. Olive oil will work fine. I like that it's double duty...I can set some aside for massage, and set the rest aside for cooking.

Grapeseed oil is more expensive, but works well. Not markedly better than olive oil.

GNC stores, Body Shop, and health food stores carry massage oils such as Grapeseed Oil. Another good oil is almond oil.

You'll pay less for oil that is marketed for food purposes rather than massage. Same thing, just less expensive.

Try out the different oils and see what you think.

Regarding lotion, I've used Biotone. They offer lotions and creams. It's a good product, but I prefer olive oil.

I agree. Strange that you'd be expected to provide the oil.

Have fun.

I tend to mix my own concoctions of massage lotion/oil. In my opinion, the massage oil found in stores, which is specifically made for massage, is way too oily and smelly for my tastes - literally!! :p When I give massages in hotels or at a client's house on the bed, it can be far too messy when we are finished massaging and start playing. So, I just mix different hand and body lotions together along with baby oil (usually Johnson & Johnson's) until I get the desired consistency I am looking for. Something that really spreads well and makes for a nice, soothing massage, but is absorbed fairly easily into the skin and doesn't make a mess or smell too much when we are finished. Plus, it makes the skin as smooth as a baby's butt!! :-)
