I was a birthday present for an 18-year old on his birthday. He didn't even look 18 - more like 16 -- but I verified his age by asking to see his driver license. His older brother set it up and it took place in his brother's apartment. When I arrived, there was a birthday party going on with about 8 guys and everyone was drinking beer and watching porn. The birthday boy was naked when I got there - he was not allowed to wear any clothing all day on his birthday - and they also gave him some viagara about an hour before I got there. About half the guys were naked and the rest were in swimsuits. When I showed up, the naked ones put on shorts and they grabbed some beer and went to the pool.

 

I knew I was going to be a birthday present for someone, but I don't ask a lot of questions of clients. I had no idea he was going to be 18 and I had no idea I was going to be walking into the middle of an orgy/party. Normally, I can handle situations like this but I got a little freaked out when I saw how young he looked. It's usually the client who is a bit nervous but this time I must admit I was the one with jitters. I'm 34 and have had clients 60+ with no bothers but having a 18 year old client bothered me. I almost backed-out and probably would have if it had not been for all his buddies. That would have really been a shitty way to celebrate your 18th birthday - having all your buddies know the escort they lined up for you bailed out.

 

I did go through with it and it turned out to be alright. He and his buddies all had a great time. Ok - let me know what you think - good or bad. Is 18 too young?

No kidding. We were doing lots of pharmaceuticals at 18, but they tended to work in the opposite direction of viagra....but then again, at 18, almost nothing prevented an erection. Also, at 18, who had a bunch of gay friends, number one, who would come to an orgy birthday party, number two? Obviously I have lived a very sheltered life.

I'm with Traveller on this one. When I was 18: (1) who had gay friends? (2) who had an older brother who would hire an escort as a birthday present? (3) who had (out) gay friends who would have come to an orgy/gang-bang?

 

If all of those things had happened to me at 18 -- or at any other of my (legal) young age, my whole life would have been a helluva lot simpler and, no doubt, happier.

 

Not only was he not too young, I've never met a gay man yet who didn't wish that he had had sex with an older man, who was also an expert at sex, when he was young. You did this kid a favor a lot more valuable than whatever his brother paid you. Feel GOOD about it! He'll remember you for the rest of his life.

In '92, I saw a client who was 16 years old. He had first called me when he was 15 and when I asked him how old he was, he was honest. I told him to give me a call when he turned 18. One of his friends gave him the viagara as a birthday present. There were some poppers on the table but he already knew not to mix the two. Another friend gave him his first esctasy pill but that was for later.

My experience is different.

 

I came out when I was 16 (to my parents, friends and teachers at school, etc). This was in 1978 in a Michigan town with a population of about 4,000. I had met a few other gay teens through a local gay organization, so I already some gay friends. We went to a few dances and other parties with scores of other gay men around. A few times older guys did try to hit on me. I know that I didn't appreciate their efforts. Quite honestly, my friends and I thought that anyone over 25 was over the hill. We definitely were interested in guys around our own age. I never did feel like I needed an older guy to "help me" or "teach me" anything sexually. I didn't actually end up having sex with anyone until my freshman year of college, about two years after I came out and started socializing with gay boys and men. My dorm-mate who became my first lover surely taught me a lot about sex, and to this day I'm not sure where he learned everything he knew. :7

 

I do, however, acknowledge my gratitude for the older men who served as mentors (self-respecting gay men who were role models and also talked with us about "gay culture," stereotypes, homophobia, etc). It was sort of like having a gay father or gay big brother.

 

Back to the initial topic of this thread, I don't think that 18 is necessarily too young, but if I were an escort I think I would feel put off showing up for an engagement which I presumed would be a one-on-one thing but that actually had a group of guys there. Change the friends' ages to 60 and what would you feel? Would you want to go ahead with the booking at your normal rate or would you feel as if you had been tricked into providing services (even if only exhibitionist services) to a group of men from whom you were collecting no fee?
