Time change requests

I recently replied to a topic in the Deli, and realized that the situation actually happened more often with masseurs than escorts, so I am adding it in this section also.

I understand things can happen at the last minute, but I get a little leery when I have an appointment scheduled with a provider for a time, and get a text (usually about 45 minutes or so before the time), asking can we change it to xxx time, usually 30-60 minutes later. 

I immediately get the sense he's trying to squeeze in another appointment, which irritates me. Its especially annoying when I am already on the way to the meeting.

Most recently, I've simply declined the change only to find, all of a sudden, the original time is fine.

I believe that showing up on time for appointments (as a client) and providers being ready on time is a matter of basic decency. As @ButchAtlsays, “things happen” and if some sort of life event happens, I understand. 

I had an appointment recently. Travelled a distance to get to the masseur. It was a first visit. I’m near him and texted 15 min before the appointment asking for exact address and apt/room number. At 5 min before our appointment, he texts me, “Shit. Can we do this an hour later?”. I message back with something like, “I’m on the street and don’t really have anything to do for an hour. Any chance you can be ready in < 1 hour?”.  20 minutes goes by before I get a reply. And, through the text convo, never an “I’m sorry” or any sign of regret for disrespecting my time.  I think that’s what bothered me the most.

I ended up cancelling.  It just didn’t feel right.

If it’s not a major inconvenience for me, I try to accommodate a schedule change, even if it’s last minute.
As I’ve gotten better at this hobby, I’ve learned not to try and squeeze in a meeting between other 
appointments so I’m usually pretty flexible. Nonetheless, it’s a one time thing. A second request 
for a time change is greeted with an immediate cancellation. It’s a sure sign the young man doesn’t 
take his business or my patronage seriously. I’ve never had a scenario where I’ve accommodated 
more than one time change request turn into a meeting that was worth the hassle.

Too many fish. And even if I’m in an escort wasteland, I’m better off having a drink alone at the bar.

I always text the morning of “Still on for 90min massage at 7:00?

I text again as I’m leaving “On my way to you now, see you at 7:00”

This has saved me a bunch of times as it gives the masseur an opportunity to tell me what time he’ll actually be ready. 

However, the last massage I had, in spite of the usual texts, when I text him that I’m downstairs he says “I’m running behind can you come back in 30-45min?” I said I couldn’t and I’d try to book later for another time (I won’t).

I usually clear enough time that I’m not rushing to something after the massage so I’m happy to be flexible if something comes up, but I refuse to wait in the street or kill time because of poor planning.

I would only do a time change if they give ample notice. If they give short notice it is obvious they don’t respect your time and is a red flag
