As much as I like Mexican beach towns, the bigger ones feel Americanized and lose what makes Mexico an incredible place to visit.

In the last few months, I've spent a lot of time in Mexico City, Monterrey and San Miguel de Allende, three cities that are rich in culture with great food scenes and comfortable places to stay.

I'm actually heading back to CDMX next week and have been tinkering with spending 3-6 months there in 2021.

There's apparently a large Canadian expat community in San Miguel de Allende. Haven't been there yet, but hope to see it one day.

The expat community in general is huge there. Canadians, French and Americans mostly.

It's a truly beautiful place. For me, an authentic piece of Mexico.

That sounds wonderful. If my Spanish was better...well, no, it wouldn't be practical. But it does sound good!

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm keeping this thread alive cuz I love PV! I was in last Feb 2020 right as COVID was making headlines. In reflections I got a really good vacation in right before the world changed. Anyways, I'll share a few of my experiences til we can all make new ones.

Escorts aren't really my thing (I'm more active in the massage forum), but the two main strips clubs, Wet Dream and Anthropology, have boys for hire who dance and will arrange meet-ups outside of the club. Some do, some just dance. You just need to ask politely and respectfully. My friends didn't want to go to Anthrology because it has/had a reputation of having aggressive guys and rough trade, so we hit up Wet Dreams two or three times. It was fairly busy on most nights and some of the guys can be quite aggressive about lap dances. Two of my friends bit and took two guys back for $20 lap dances and both came back disappointed. But I suspect it's because both don't know how to ask for what they want.

I, on the other hand, do not have that particular issue - towards the end of the trip another friend and I snuck out to do a fruit loop (tour of the gay bars) and I knew from the moment I suggested it that Anthology was my target destination. I just needed my friend (who is an ex-marine) to enjoy a lil liquid courage before I casually suggested it. And he did, and we did. I will say Anthrology's reputation for being a sleazy aggressive hustler bar was not deserved. (Side note: I heard that it changed Management, so maybe it was previously). But there was no formal cover - the guy at the door ask for a donation and I put in 100 pesos ($5 USD) for both of us and he seems quite happy with it and welcomed us in.

You walk upstairs and there's sorta a foyer and then the bar. To the right is a shower show and the left there is seating around a stage. The "back room" is upstairs. We sat at the bar and had drinks, boys came up to us, said hello introduced themselves but at no time did I feel they were being aggressive. We both founds guys we liked, had drinks and watched the show. We both ended up getting lap dances ($25 USD for 15 minutes I believe). I chose a 21 year old acrobat by day, stripper by night. My friend chose a handsome guy with HUGE muscles. He had a nightclub bouncer sorter look - Striking features but he could easily crush your head with his thighs. Shortly thereafter I learned, via Google translate, how to say "Not so loud, my friend is in the next room!" in Spanish.

There are two other newer strip clubs that we walked by and were pretty vacant so we didn't go in. I've heard you can meet escorts out in the bar but I've yet to run into one in a regular bar. The OP asked about Los Amigos and it had a few people in it both times we went but I didn't get any vibe it was a hustler bar. It was a few locals sitting with friends. Strong, cheap drinks tho.

Also Grindr is quite active both for regular hook up and my friends hit up a few escorts on it. Gridr bans escorts so they aren't real obvious.

Back in the pre-smart phone day I remember guys would come up on the beach with a binder full of stick on tattoos and would ask if you want smoke or coca and occasionally some would ask if you wanted a guy or girl who would come to you room later. I never pursued that avenue but I do recall it.

We also did attend a pool party at the gay where the owner invites several strippers over to wear VERY little and umm "entertain" the guests. But that's another story ;)

Enjoyed reading your story about PV. I have two friends who are there now for the winter. They each bought condos there a year ago but had been renting in previous years. You mentioned a strip club Anthology but spelled it three diffferent ways. Which was the correct spelling?

I just checked RM listings for PV and it seems there are quite a few well known escorts either there now or going to be in early new year. Eg Cade Maddox is arriving Dec 31 for a week. He was in Montreal last week but didn’t respond to my message to him, and not the first time he hasn’t responded. I wonder why he bothers advertising on RM.

A trip there right now would not be vey advisable as we are being told to stay home by our government. And new restrictions may be coming about return travel from abroad where currently passengers are only being screened. Quebec and Ontario both want the feds to start testing at the airports. Those testing positive would not be allowed back in the country and would have to quarantine abroad. We’ll see.

My curiosity is what happens when you first get to the lap dance room? Have you already negotiated a sexual program, or do you need to do that once in the room. Do you pull out your cock rightaway, or wait until it is clear that the guy wants to play hard?

Yeah, $25 for 15 minutes sounds good if there is some action. In Montreal in days of yore 15 minutes would usually rack up $100 or more depending on how long each song was at $20 per song. But if you got a hot guy, you got a lot for your $100, usually a cum shot by him.

I'm 100% a negotiate upfront sorta guy (but leave some jiggle.. er wiggle room for additions) - then everyone leaves satisfied while weeding out the straight guys who just want to be g-rated worshiped for 10 minutes. I call 'em 'Three-arm bandits'.

I loathe negotiate during - it really takes me outta the moment. For this particular guy we chatted and made out for awhile before he asked if I wanted a lap dance. After he asked we chatted about it. It was quite casual and quite easy. The $500 pesos (About $25 USD) is for the booth/room (It was sorta like a changing room at a clothing shop with a bench in the back) and time. The stripper didn't even handle the money - I gave it directly to the guy who was at the door to the upstairs room. I *think* he buzzed us in. As we went up there was a room attendant and the stripper gave him some money and said something to him, which I couldn't hear. My assumption was "Here's some cash - look the other way". When we got in the room the stripper already knew what we negotiated and I sat on the bench and he took the lead. We had a VERY nice time. I did tip him extra afterwords as he was quite attuned to me and he exceeded my expectations. Oddly, he took the tip but seemed like he wasn't expecting it. Americans tip but it's not a thing in other countries/economies.

Thanks for the clarification about pricing. It sounds like the $25 only covers the use of the room by the dancer/stripper and the client. I am assuming the client is also paying the provider for his time. That is different from the business model in the stripper bars in Montreal where the only fee is paid to the dancer. I don't believe he pays management for the use of the backrooms. Of course, management gets its pound of flesh, so to speak, from the dancers who put on multiple shows on the public stage for the entertainment of the paying customers who only watch the shows and don't have private lap dances.

The only time I had a negative conversation was at Stock Bar in Montreal. The stripper approached me (I didn't even make eye contact). He wouldn't discuss upfront and just wanted to get me in the back room. I politely declined and he got mad, accused me of wasting his time (all 5 minutes of it) and stormed off. I got the distinct impression there were some illicit substances invoked and he was looking for quick cash.

I never was very fond of Stock. I found the guys too g4p in attitude. Campus was my favourite stripper bar. More variety in types of dancers. I hate to think of how much money I dropped there. Lol

I've been to Montreal once, and Puerto Vallarta thrice. I had fun at Stock, Campus, and Taboo in Montreal. In PV, I had fun at Anthropology, WetDreams, 69, and Debraye. I would say to anybody reading these threads and planning their first trip: Visit them all repeatedly and make your own decisions. And give the guys a try again on your next visit, because dancers and managers change. Heck, the same club can change from a Thursday to a Saturday.

Let's be grateful these places exist and frequent them as often as we can!
