Do you keep dealing with regular or once met clients if they flake when scheduling subsequent sessions?

I blocked someone today in RM after they canceled on me last minute. The vibe he gave me to start was good and informal and casual. This morning he messages me saying unfortunately something has come up. I politely asked him why he had to cancel and told him that his cancellation directly effects my finances and schedule (I moved things around just for the appt). I also asked him if he would like to reschedule at some point during the week and he said no. The conversation went from informal to formal real quick with him feeding me the “In these unprecedented times” bullshit line. I also conveyed to him that I just received negative test results from my coronavirus test. I understand what we do here is taboo but this is still a business. I could smell his bullshit from across the Hudson River so therefore I blocked him. I won’t be fooled twice....it was obvious he never intended to meet from the get go.....we’ve had several convos last year before Covid that never led to a concrete booking. People need to understand that if you are going to waste my time, play games, or chat me up for hours just to jerk off to my pics, then they will never see the goodies....and I have some awesome awesome goodies......if only providers could establish a list of time wasters to help save ourselves the trouble of dealing with the bullshit.

I am sorry to say that good manners aren't common. Ever notice how many guys give themselves out as "gentleman" or "generous" but when it comes to acting like one they don't step up? I will do my due diligence - we need to be a good fit after all, but I won't waste your time. And if I cancel on short notice (same day) I will tell you as soon as I can and pay a cancellation fee. It doesn't happen often that I cancel but my providers are always surprised when I make it up to them. That is kinda sad when you think about it. Treat folks like you want to be treated - it is the right thing to do.

I’ve cancelled (flaked?) as a client two times.

The first was my first (would-be) hire, Mike Grey. I called the night before and said I couldn’t go through with it. I was so panicked, I never gave it a thought how my cancellation impacted him. Not a proud moment looking back, but I was inexperienced with guys, and the hiring protocol.

The second time was with Dane Scott, who I had seen before (and since). But I legitimately had a work issue come up, so I had to cancel same-day. To make it up to him somewhat, I gifted him his ad on Rentmen.

Just offering these examples to show that cancellations do sometimes happen and it’s not (always) someone trying to be an asshole.

By the way, as a client I’ve been same-day cancelled/no show-ed on - at least - six occasions. Including one individual twice (I’m 0 for 2 with him). And all have been well-reviewed on this board. So it definitely works both ways.

I wish more people had this mindset. The other week I got so frustrated, because some of these guys cancel, or flake, or don’t say anything about something came up, until I send my cancellation request. Then they want to sit and argue with me over some shit that they contacted me to arrange to begin with.

If someone going to give the expectation of being paid, it’s just a real dick move to leave them hanging. It probably wouldn’t bother me as much if I had bookings coming left and right throughout the week. Not to mention, I just paid $150 for 3 ads since last week, and with the exception of my regulars who were already in my contacts and some inquiries in other cities, I haven’t made a single penny back. Might as well just use Twitter to advertise for free.

That’s what makes it harder to keep a level head. I pay all this money for ads, only to have my time wasted or phone dead. I think going forward, I’m sticking to basic ads and keeping my ad budget to under $100 a month unless I plan to be in a big market. This is a travesty.

Jarrod, pretty much every reply to your initial actual question has been “No”

Take that advice to heart.

That's a gentleman's behavior! Well done!

Did I allude that I wasn't taking it to heart? I agree in the same.

The only concern I have, is how many visitors could end up blocked off in the long run. In my current area, I've got so many numbers blocked, that I almost wonder if I've closed off most of the hiring pool here. I mean, when it boils down to it..it often seems to be the same guys are using the sites and they probably contact escorts in rounds.

So it gets more complicated than just "no". Do I be the forgiving and unbothered escort that just let's people change their minds or "have stuff come up" at random, despite me expecting that a session is taking place. And just roll with it, knowing that if they booked me once, maybe they'll come around and book me 3-4 months later? Or do I take notes, and possibly end up letting other escorts get booked by these guys on the days they decide to actually go forward with a session?

I seen a guy traveling thru here this week, and we've often ended up in the same markets before. I'm thinking to myself, either he must be very dead here, or some of my blocked contacts are booking him. Because I'm looking at my past hotel trip itinerary, last time I booked a place to host an appointment was around August 8th for 1 day. That's in between traveling from other cities, but still. It's just sad. That a city can be so dead and there's nothing you can do about it because, everytime a text comes thru it's just another mother fucker on some bullshit. I'd be hard pressed to believe, he got more than 1 or 2 clients here. If that.

A friend from the Midwest had a rather colorful extended family, including his grandmother who was jailed for a series of bad checks and his crazy uncle Dave who traveled with Ringling Brothers. The uncle would return for a week every 6-8 months, and tell the family about life on the road with the circus. Mostly he was very dissatisfied about how grueling and hard it was to do the work, which was looking after the large animals. Apparently, for all the years he’d been working, he spent most of his day mucking - cleaning up after horses and elephants - all day, every day, shoveling shit. Lots of it, and he went on for more than an hour this one time, describing in detail about the all of the shit.

My friend said to him “Uncle Dave, why don’t you stay here and get a better job?”

And Uncle Dave replied, “... and give up show business?”
