+ 7829V
If a client would like to bring a small gift. What would be appropriate? A plant? Wine? or brining a small gift is a bad idea? asianmusclebttm
Communication!!! Probably the most key factor. Good communication in setting up the appointment and discussing expectations / likes / things to avoid - makes for a much easier and comfortable session. Eliminates guess work! Then the escort AND the client are more at ease and happier. + 7829V, harlow, + jrhoutex and 3 others
Smurof
A biggie that gets overlooked - DON"T BE EARLY!! I've had one who I really enjoyed prevent me from a repeat visit for being early, which set a terrible tone for the session. Also, by being early with a different provider I was able to see his prior hire - not something either one of us wanted to experience. It's happened to me the other way as well with someone else being early that it spoiled the end of my session. For my defense, I live in a rural area where it takes me hours to get to my hires, and I don't want to be late. I know now to drive around the block a time or two or find an errand to run to avoid this from happening. + 7829V, asianmusclebttm, + robear and 1 other

Just thinking about a BF experience a small gift would come natural. I think it depends on the nature of the meeting, and if you know him well enough. I'd avoid having drinks from opened containers, honestly, but an unopened bottle of wine may be a nice way to start the date. I probably wouldn't give a plant, though. KrisParr
Many times when I’m about to meet a new escort, I try to develop a bit of a rapport via text, email or (horrors) on the phone. When it feels right, I will ask if I might bring a beverage of their choice. It’s usually met with a little surprise and then either a “no, thanks” or a “skinny latte“ and one time, “any chance you could find some blueberry wine?” It makes it fun because when I show up with with wine or the grapefruit juice (seriously) they’ve often forgotten. It’s the little things, gentlemen, that can break the ice and add a touch a class. I have drawn the line at Dom Perignon, however. + Pensant and BaronArtz

Text me when you're ready... no rush." Is this appropriate, or am I still guilty of a social faux pas? Not a provider here, but I can hardly see how that would be inappropriate. Particularly if the provider is involved with another client, he wouldn’t necessarily be looking at his texts anyhow. At least I would hope not. As a general rule, I would find such a text appropriate to anyone that you were coming to visit at a particular time. I find that oftentimes hosts are unready to receive you if you come too early to dinner or the like. Daverwr, NikoLeto and Strafe13

I have to depend on public transportation so I tend to leave early to ensure any potential delays don't make me late. The walk from the station was shorter than I expected and thus was early. Thankfully, I knew the person was coming home from somewhere else so I knew he wouldn't be with anyone, but still it was a bit awkward. OTOH, I had a different hire text me that I could come in to his hotel room whenever I arrived and not wait for our scheduled time. He gave me the extra time gratis. In return, I bought him some cannoli from my favorite Italian bakery that was across the street from his hotel. + robear and Strafe13
+ keroscenefire
For the first time with a guy, I also try to keep it pretty simple. A typical 1 or maybe 2 hour meeting without trying to make any extraordinary demands and keeping to whatever donation he quotes. I usually wait until a few dates and we've established chemistry before I suggest a longer meeting or some kind of kinkier thing (unless the guys himself advertises those kind of services to begin with). But yeah just be respectful. And also truly a best practice is to go with established guys that have a good reputation. Use the board, use reviews. Don't just go for some random guy. There are a few flakes, druggies and guys with off-putting attitudes (though not as many as you might think). But the real professionals are wonderful guys and if you treat them with respect, they will do likewise. + Just Sayin, SamSpring, + Steve yabsley and 1 other

Just thinking about a BF experience a small gift would come natural. It's funny you mentioned this. I've had a couple of escorts/masseurs over the years that say it's their birthday on the day of the appt or the day I'm setting up the appt. I usually believe them (or don't care if they're lying) but I feel like I should get them a little something. The last guy was a masseur who said his b-day was the day of the appt. I asked if he likes chocolates. No. How about alcohol? No. I asked about one other item (I don't remember what at this point). No. Well, that was enough for me. I tried... Sure, he probably just wanted extra cash over the normal tip but I'd rather give a little gift for the b-day and tip appropriately for the service itself. I mean, how much more money are you expecting to get out of me? I think I'm pretty generous as it is. haha xyz48B, Client1985 and NikoLeto
urbanfetish
A biggie that gets overlooked - DON"T BE EARLY!! I think being early is good as long as there's good communication and no expectations. I've set up a few appts saying I might be early. And other times when I arrive faster than expected, I just let them know I'm nearby and they can let me know when they are ready. I mean really, if they are available and can free up 10-15 min on the other end of the appt, why not? Twice I've encountered traveling escorts/masseurs who were running appts back-to-back and were obvious about it. That's their fault for scheduling so tight. With the masseur in question, I passed the previous client in the hotel hallway on my way in and the next client as I was leaving. (Saw them leaving/entering the masseur's room.) + ButchAtl
urbanfetish
For my best practices, I have learned to be as clear as possible of my desires when making the appt. I usually want kissing, rimming and anal with the escort being the bottom. I get my price up front. I've had guys try to pull an "a la carte" deal on me while we're in the middle of things (oh, anal will be an extra $XX). Nope, no more of that crap. Now, if I set kissing/rimming/anal as my prearranged request and then I say I want to add bondage into the mix after we get started, then that's on me. Of course, you still get "yes men" who agree to everything ahead of time but then reality is another story... It's frustrating but that's on them when it comes time to pay (or tip) and the review. ?♂️ + keroscenefire and MscleLovr
