Some would refuse to take them off, some can't get them off after hmhmhmhm years... Fear of theft is possible, but if that's the motive, I bet she'd wear a fake duplicate. The real one stays in a safe deposit box, the cubic zirconia lookalike goes everywhere (whether it's Cancun or just Jamba Juice...), no one asks "OMG why is her ring missing!", and the celeb never has to reveal that they sometimes travel without it.
