Red Dirt (streamed on Dekkoo) starts and ends with this amazing poem.

In between there is a lot of southern Gothic dialogue which I loved, especially the scenes portraying these two young men wanting to escape their boring lives. All that was good.

Karen Black plays an eccentric with emotional issues.

The last 10 minutes were so rewarding. The plot had some points that are not as strong and not easy to follow. Some won't have the patience for it, but I did.

Forever and a day and the blood of man, stained red the dirt of the Mississippi land. And in this journey we go, but in this place we’ll stay. If only in the heart, where memory of love, eternally remains.
