Hi!

I want to escort in Mexico and I'm hesitating between two cities: Mérida and Puerto Vallarta.

I'm looking for the one that'd be the best in term of revenue:

  • Mérida is the biggest of the two city, it's relatively touristic. It's not on rentmen but is on mileroticos dot com. Escorts seem a bit cheap there.
  • Puerto vallarta is 4x smaller in term of population, but is way more touristic (that's my impression). Escorts seem more expensive there

I'm white and I think it could make me stand-out in Mérida, as I see only latinos in mileroticos listings.

Both cities seem relatively safe (no long debate on Mexico safety, please.)

What would be your choice, and why? Any recommendation?

I'm from Europe, but I'll stay in Mexico a few months as I really like it.

Gotcha.

For the sheer turnover rate and near-constant influx of gay locals and visitors, I'd say PV. Merida is beautiful and worth visiting while you're spending time in MX, but for business, Vallarta seems the logical choice.

Long-term rentals in the city are easy to find. If you're willing to take the city bus into La Romantica (city center), you can find some incredible condo/house deals going North towards Sayulita. It's about 8-10 miles outside of PV, past Conchas Chinas.

You say Mérida is not on RMen, but I assume there’d be nothing to prevent you from setting up an ad and having it and the city pop up.

I was there for a long visit and not one Mileroticos ad appealed to me. The trade (dancers) in the main strip club were unappealing as well. What would stand out as much as a gringo provider would be a well-built handsome local provider. They are everywhere in public, but not to be found in ads, on Grindr, and the strip joints.

The demographics of expats and tourists would likely influence your business. Also the proportions of the population with higher disposable income.

Straddling both Mérida and Cancun is another option. Interesting how RM rates are so much higher for PV than Cancun.

I think the clients with more money want the more exotic local experience but not at north-of-Grande prices. Locals will probably undercut you and, with luck, not cut you.

Likely not a main factor is prostitution law, but legality and regulation varies according to state.

PV has about double the visitor volume, about 2 million (roughly 10% cruise port of call) compared to about 1 million Yucatán.

In Mérida there are more touristy activities that span Yucatán, so there may be more opportunities to blend guide and BFE roles for the well-heeled visitor. I think, as well, Mérida visitors have the fantasy of cruising the main square as opposed to Blue Chairs (Muertos?) beach PV.

San Miguel Allende. Saturated with gentlemen of means holding black AMEX cards.

You may be right, but having gotten an invite a couple of weeks ago to upgrade to an Amex Centurion, I don't think it's the exclusive group that it used to be. I quickly said no thanks.

$7500 initiation fee, $2500 annual. For that kind of nonsense spend, the card doesn't have enough benefits for me. I get everything I need from Amex Platinum.

What about medium-term rentals, for 1-3months? I'll only look for a simple studio, any idea of the prices?

I've posted a few ads to test the market of merida and PV, and I think indeed PV might be the best choice.

1 to 3 months is definitely possible, but this late in the game the lowest prices might be gone. Season starts in less than a month.

Get a feel for what you want on Airbnb or HomeAway and then contact the owner directly to make a deal. Nearly all of them are wanting to find that stable, longer term tenant. Renting for season (Nov-March) is a very normal thing in PV.

Spitballing here, I'd say for a comfortable studio you'd look at $350-500/mo. Electricity might be additional as it can be very expensive (by MX standards).
