Why the extra charge for Uber?

In this activity, if you must argue dollar$ and ¢ents, you're looking at the wrong ad.

Do you expect an escort, who is "charging for time only" to depart your place after 40 minutes because it's a 10 minute ride back to his place, and he spent 10 minutes getting to you?

And why not pay transportation along with paying for the escort's time while traveling to you?

Folks at best we're paying for the fantasy so why are you cheapening it by making the provider's life more difficult for the same $$$?

I’d say the increased rate is to take care of the travel time. Here’s an example. Let’s say a provider has In call of $300 Out of $350. The Outcall is 20 minutes each way. The provider is making an additional $50 off of a 1 hr. 40 min. Appointment. If the Uber is t provided, they are definitely making less money than if the client came to him.

Of course everyone handles Out Calls differently, but I just wanted to throw this out there.

Another reason for use of Uber is for verification that you’re not a No Show. I’d say a Client is more “invested” in the appointment if they pick up the first Uber.

I’d have to say most escorts out there have been burned on an Outcall No Show at some point. The Uber mitigates that risk.

In Denver that's pretty rare because I guess most people have their own cars...not sure. I also actually go to them 80 percent of the time, so maybe it just doesn't come up. I've only had one ask for a Lyft..and then since I actually do that one the side, I went and picked him up myself. :)

Shouldn't the increased outcall rate cover any transportation expenses? Why add the uber fee on top of the outcall rate?

In some cases maybe yes but i personally don't have a problem (assuming it is reasonable) to offer an Uber on top of an increased Outcall fee. As some have mentioned sometimes that increase fee may act as a way to increase the odds of serious clients over potential flaking clients, (though if they flake it doesn't really matter what they agreed to pay in the first place). Mostly i see it as an additional convenience fee as well for them. I'll give the person the benefit of the doubt and assume that they typically host and in that case they could immediately shower up and take care of preparations for another client more efficiently than if they were running around in transit in order to meet multiple clients over the course of the evening when I'm asking them to come to me.

The increased outcall fee is because it takes so long to travel. The alternative would be to put the client "on the clock" during travel time and that would be much higher and prone to abuse. I think a normal 1-hr outcall takes 2 hours of a provider's time while a 1-hour in call takes 1 hour.

Since Uber it's not really asking for the fare per se, it's asking for the ride to you and back. I doubt many guys anymore care to deal with driving, getting directions, parking, or public transportation. It's a wasteful PITA compared to the client sending you a quick ride from your door to his. It also assures the provider that you're for real and this isn't one of those cruel jokes pretend-clients do. You don't explain to the provider how to get to you, you just give Uber your location on the app and his pickup address. Takes seconds. It's $10 well-spent by the client in making the provider happy and getting him to you on time.

It is a common gesture on behalf of the client in every major city that says “hey, I’m serious, let’s get things moving.” It cuts down on a lot of the back and forth and saves both of you time.

A) It’s reassurance for the provider because a fake/flake isn’t going to offer you a car B) the client knows exactly where his provider is and those “ETA???” texts can be avoided.

I always request a car late night hours and communicate to clients it’s to confirm “legitimacy of your booking” because those days of going all the way cross town in the wee hours of the morning to arrive at a fraudulent apt or hotel number or knock on an unanswered door are over. It’s seldom a problem. For those nickling and diming, consider it a convenience fee.
