    After complaints from parents and consultation with the school district’s lawyers, the Washington Township School District superintendent decided to remove rainbow-colored Safe Zone signs that had been hanging in Long Valley Middle School since 2019. Superintendent Peter Turnamian announced the change at the Jan. 3 board of education meeting.
