Openly transgender people won elections in unexpected areas across the U.S. in what one organization is calling a “rainbow wave.” They “shatter(ed) lavender ceilings” in states such as Alaska, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Montana, according to the LGBTQ Victory Fund.
