‘Get this porn out of our schools’: Parent challenges Utah book ban by requesting the Bible be removed

A Utah parent is asking for the Bible to be eliminated from classrooms, after a GOP lawmaker backed a bill ordering the removal of “pornographic” books from schools, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Per Newsweek, the parent’s petition was submitted anonymously following the bill’s passing in May of 2022. “Get this PORN out of our schools,” the parent wrote in their request, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
